dreams...how much is real?
how much is our fear of the unknown
how much is both?
I will be posting a series of dreams I have had. Promise not to send in the white coated men ok?

One night when I was a teenager I woke from a dream. Something drew me to the front yard. The large trees left shadows on the lawn from the bright moonlight. The pinching cold of the night air made me shiver. I could smell the moisture on the grass. The stars in the sky sparkled very, very clearly. Suddenly the defining shadows disappeared. I felt a presence and I quickly hid in the shadows. Above me filling almost the entire view of the sky was a huge spacecraft. There was no sound. It was a long, a huge rectangle with the corners cut off. The body of the craft was dark, almost black, and dull. The entire surface was covered with lights, as if it they were un-curtained windows. It must have been enormous, a city of the skies. It hovered above me. I knew they were searching for me. I was terrified. It finally moved on, I was safe.

It was then I woke from the dream itself. I sat in my bed trembling. It had been so real. The fear remained, and to this day I wonder…and to this day it is as vivid as it was back then.

love to discuss this with you but there are eyes that read and minds that 'work' the 'work' and must not know what 'we' know...

10 Jan 2005 @ 04:22 by skookum : should i take it down?
I will worry...

naw...only 20 or so look at it..

and after all.. it was just a dream right?

10 Jan 2005 @ 10:20 by vaxen : heh heh
Just a dream, a wonderful dream...
No do not take it down as
I am not telling anything
Not even thinking it so...

Who is to know?
Besides, what 'they'
do not know

Will hurt 'them!'
Not us
so...

Esta Mui Koolo, eh?
I have dreams, too,
And, they are very real.

Besides, reality is
all about 'agreements'
with...

The Greater East Asia Prosperity Sphere.
But, then, you know that....

Hi Marissa,

Your 'dream' narration is very similar to what I often hear experiencers describe. Often it is a metaphorical representation of close encounters (of the fourth kind or CE4). It may or may not be literally true, but it can be an indicator that CE4 activity has occurred. Dreams are often metaphors for life, or for messages from your sub/superconscious. In this case, perhaps the dream used past CE4 events as metaphors for current material in the subconscious.

One test that often works well when doing regression work with experiencers is what I call the 'dream test'.
When you close your eyes and envision yourself back in the dream, try to note what is in the distance. Is there meaningful detail?
In a metaphorical or 'creative' memory there typically is only the content which is needed to represent the subconscious content.
However in biographical memory detail will exist and in some way, be consistent and logical.

I've found that this test is quite effective. However, avoid too long a focus on the background detail as the subconscious tends to provide whatever detail it thinks you are looking for.

Also, the eye-movement test works well, too (sometimes). When someone (who is facing you) is describing an event, if it is biographical, the eyes will often glance up and to the right (note: if you are the person doing the describing, your eyes will move up and to the left). If the memory is creative in nature, then often the eye movement will be up and to the left (to the right if you are speaking).

Check out the link on {http://www.manifestation.com/neurotoys/calibrate.php3|Eye Accessing Cues}

Disclaimers, caveats, etc...:
Neither of these tests are foolproof, but they are frequently helpful.

An additional note: I've found that one of the biggest issues that close encounter experiencers have is the sense that nobody believes them. What they experienced is a very real thing (though what that reality is, I believe we do not even begin to understand). So if you believe that the event was real, stand your ground.

Also, it appears that about 0.2% to 1% of the population have had on-going CE4 experiences [check out the {http://www.nidsci.org/news/roper_surveys.html|Roper poll of unexplained experiences}]. In the Mineapolis/St.Paul metro area, that is somewhere between 4000 and 20,000 people. My hunch is that it is closer to about 4000 or so, but that still means that there are a helluvalota experiencers out there. The entities behind the UFO/CE4 phenomenon are very busy... :-)

Best of luck.
Namaste,
-Craig

11 Jan 2005 @ 20:10 by skookum : wow..
very cool.. I can hardly wait to check this stuff out.

Well, Craig,
I retold the story before looking at the eye movement chart. I found it wandered up and down the left side of my vision. Spending a bit of time at the lower left.

13 Jan 2005 @ 01:29 by craiglang : Makes sense
That probably means that you are doing a combination of Visual and auditory recall, plus auditory internal dialog. The focus on your left side (right side if I were looking at you - I assume that's what you meant) indicates some sort of a recall.

Interesting. Thanx for the update...
Namaste,
-Craig

13 Jan 2005 @ 04:12 by skookum : well.. maybe
I am recalling the dream?

13 Jan 2005 @ 15:31 by craiglang : Not sure
When we get into the realm of the close encounter phenomenon, what "reality" is becomes increasingly ambiguous. I've worked with a number of people who have had "dreams" that left burned spots on the lawn, etc... So there seems to be a certain plasticity to reality - sort of a Jungian overlay of the (para)psychological and the physical.

You ask an iteresting question regarding dream recall. I imagine that visual recall could indeed, be the recall of a dream which was primarily visual. So in that sense, the eye accessing cues don't do TOO much (also, there is considerable sketpicism as to what they are REALLY saying). So although useful, that technique defintely has its limitations.

Dream memory vs memory of a biographical event - that's when I usually try the "dream test" that I mentioned earlier (though that's not infallible, either)... :-)

Thanx for the comment.
Best,
-Craig

13 Jan 2005 @ 16:49 by skookum : the detail
of the dream is very vivid... even to this day.

I remember the stars outside.. the street light, the grass, the trees, the smells.. the feeling of cold night air.
