New Civilization News: Breaking the Cycle; Being Myself

It's the nature of the sun to shine.

It's funny how as babies most of us are adored for who we are. Your parents and family find you delightful. But slowly, bit by bit, your parents chip away at your unique self and try to mould you to become what they want you to be.

Next, education, religion, politics, medicine, science, the law, all aspects of society play their part to get you to become its idea of a perfect citizen. There goes your individuality, your unique sense of self, down the plug hole.

Now that you've conformed to society's standards you're going to ensure everyone in your life conform to your expectations including your partner, your kids, your pets, your employees, your environment...and so the cycle continues. That's life! Everyone dumps on everyone else!

Enough of this bullshit. I can't stop being who I am because you think I should. It's my nature to express myself in a way that feels natural for me. It is my nature to be myself.

Being myself means walking, speaking, dancing, eating, dressing and thinking in a way that is me.

Being myself means writing in my own unique style. While I still use the same words as everyone else, the way I combine them are uniquely me.

Being myself means being free to like what I like. I am free to follow fashion if I feel like it or not as the case may be. I am free to experiment with new things or stick to the same old, same old.

When I'm true to myself everyone is also free to be themselves. And the world is a better place for it.

I am What I am.

Thank you for being ONLY Your OWN Beautiful Self! That is indeed a GOOD idea to follow.

Thank you for your appreciation. I can only be me to the best of my ability and I wish the same for everyone.

Speaking of which, I watched the classic film, {link:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferris_Bueller's_Day_Off|Ferris Beuller's Day Off} last night. It's a brilliant example of being true to yourself. I've always loved that film and it's now even more meaningful.

Lots of love,

23 Jul 2006 @ 14:47 by jobrown : Yeahhh, I hear you,
an' apropĂ´s film; there's this program on Fine Living Channel (Satellite) called: "RadicalSabbatical" where people from all walks of Mainstream life one day just had enough of it and they each said "No, 'nough is enough ( of being UN-true to themselves)and chose to give up -in most cases a career-ermployment and "afabulous lifestyle" in order to respond to that quiet nagging voice/feeling of wanting to live on their own terms, doing that ONE Thing that had "always" been whispering in their Hearts: do this, do this....you KNOW you love doing just THIS" -and so they put ALL of what they had accomplished being OF this World in "jeapardy" and went for the Dream (of their life) and unfailingly it always ended coming out in the other end as thee SUCCESS of tjheir life as well! So, now they live IN this World doing GOOD for Humankind, but NOT being OF this World (meaning subservient to the so called "Establishment ; the Slave drivers!) If you have access to Satellite, I recommend it warmly to you. Me and my hubby Dave have enjoyed that particular show so much and it so encourqged him, so he finally got the courage himself to go for his Dream -and now we are here, out in God's Country, starting our Spiritual Community of Sustainable Living! MORE POWER to us all,eh?! : )
Thanks, Sis!

Wonderful to hear you're following your dreams.

Will look out for the programme. Sounds like my cup of tea, thank you.

Keep being true to YOU!
