- Goddess of all three worlds
This Stotram visualises the material form of Shir MahaTripurasundari. This Mother Mahashakti abides predominantly in the forest where there are many Kadamba trees. The verses give a beautiful description of her form and energy.
Kadamba vana charinim Muni dadamba Kadambinim
Nitamba jita bhu dharma Sura nitambini sevitam
Navamburuha lochanam Abhinavambuda shyamalam
Trilochana kutumbinim Tripura sundarimashraye
Kadamba vana vasinim Kanaka vallaki dharinim
Maharha mani harinim Mukah samulla sadvarunim
Daya vibhava karinim Vishada rochana charinim
Trilochana kutumbinim Tripura sundarimashraye
Kadamba vana shalaya Kuchabharolla sanmalaya
Kuchopamita shailaya Guru Krupa lasadvelaya
Maduruna Kapolaya Madhura gita vachalaya
Kaya pi Ghana nilaya kavachita vayam lilaya
Trilochana kutumbinim Tripura sandarimashraye
…….. for four more verses
The first item of note in transcribing this verse is that it appears to follow the rhyming couplet form, a style used in ancient times in the Mediterranean. This is excepting the fourth line of the 3rd verse which has five lines altogether. The same break in pattern occurs in the following five line verses.
This song is the most beautiful one I have ever had the privilege of hearing even without comprehension of the conveying language, perhaps Sanscrit. The music totally captivates the listener and hopefully the Goddess in the Forest is impressed not just with this dedication but with the continued and constantly repeated performances too, allowing the words which implore beyond implore, absolute begettment for the Nature of all Naturalness’s never to abandon Human kind Her sustenance and Glory.
The musical notation is sufficient to literally empty the heart for the feeling they pour out into the words seeminly lifting higher and higher the Whole of Existence to a Heavenly Realm. This song is meant to be Mantra Kariokee, and is the only kind practised by the log writer. The song is published on the CD entitled Mahashakti Durga (details later).
Life’s course sometimes signifies a pause for reflection and registration of the moment of achievement. The winding path suddenly opens out into a grassy plain. Loads are lifted. Cool streams stribble under the leaves on mossy banks over the smooth rocks. The vista beyond is laid out clearly for all to see. If only all eyes could witness the same such beauty there would transpire, a Simultaneity of Happiness; Gravity Defying lightness of Being would permeate the Earth World.
Sitting on a rock, musing so, on such improbables, wishing for All Kind the same arrival and destination is folly. Peace, joy and delight like tasty morsels showered in powdered sugar on a delicately and intricately patterned porcelain plate, just waiting to be taken and enjoyed. How these morsels must yearn and yearn for the Taking Over the Eons so as to replenish rather than maintain freshness and aroma in pink and yellow lustres everlasting for All Kind.
Nraye (any similarity to known persons is coincidence to the above refrain)
