After Athens fell first in 400 BC to the Spartans for 3 years, and later to Philip, and then sundry other ruling persons, the schools of learning set up across the Hellenized world.
The light of the authors paramount continued to shine even 550 years later for the Alexandrines who continued the traditions in their own styles to add yet more diversity to the whole development of thought.
Two final themes emerge in the embers of this Art which commenced outside the walls of Troy immortalised by Homer. The themes are the emergence of Romance, Love simple and pure for the people, king and peasant alike, and the incomparable works of St John the Divine, The Revelations, for which inspiration is considered the epitome of Love Sublime and Divine.
In other words the fall from Greatness, the greatest that has ever been, culminated in the satisfaction many many years later in the Realisation of the Absolute Sustenance of Love, in one form or the other, or both, and which found their way entwined into the new shoots of early Christianity. The leaves of these shoots extending the Two Loves out to close members of the community and beyond, and the seeds creating yet new communities of the same.
This new Romantic discovery, admitted socially, allowed the limitations, trial and tribulations of life, a full mitigation all in the simple realisation of Love. This was more than enough to bind families and groups in their true endeavours.
A huge inheritance which in our current all consuming society is thrown aside for the satisfaction of false desires having no connection with the Earth or others but just for the whim of the indoctrinated single mite.
After our current Wars and Weather havoc, will it take another 500 years for the same lesson to be learnt, for people to be content with notions of love, however rustic and deprived, these may be? Will they see that to have this love is greater than all other acquisitions, and to act in this love is to surpass all other organisations not doing the same, and that this is only demonstrated by the fact that the Other type exists at all. It does not mean that the other type should be fed, but that the Simple Love type should continue in the knowledge of HOW it HAS come ABOUT.
