Often they are combined as we interact with each other. The energy you send out is the energy another will receive. It is the energy separate from the words spoken. This energy can ignite the receiver to respond back with like energy. When you respond with like energy you are "matching the energy". You always have the choice to match the energy or not. If you choose to shift the energy instead of matching it, you may shift an angry situation. A good example of understanding energy and words is when someone says something to you but they really mean something else. You know the energy behind the words is where the truth lies for the speaker. Watch your own energy as you interact with others. Notice when you match energy. I first learned about the concept of matching energy from Patricia Sun. "Patricia should, receive the Nobel Prize for her discovery of 'Matching Energy.' I have shared it with other therapists and helped so many, in my own practice and on the air, using it. It is a profound and genuinely transforming realization." -Murry Needelman, Host, Murry Needelman Show, Philadelphia Pa. ([link]) One example is when two people are having an argument and both get entrenched in their point of view. Anger rises and logic leaves. Of course the best example of matching energy is when two people fall in love....need I say more! Here on NCN there are a variety of energies being projected. Some people only want peace and love while others want to attack and abuse individuals that don't agree with their position. They get even angrier when the other person won't match their energy. They become more abusive, attack more and get very frustrated when they don't get back the energy they are sending. Often times the abuser becomes exhausted when no one responds to his or her negative energy. They also get excited when another member will back up their abusing energy to perpetuate the dysfunction. In the end though they only hurt their own body, mind and soul. It can be a vicious cycle to break because they have to admit to themselves that they are wrong in their thinking. Little do they realize that by admitting a mis-take they can leap to a new style of thinking. Once you understand the power of "matching energy" you can shift your thinking and your life. As you become more aware of your own energy running through your body it is easier to shift it when you are being abused. And that is when the healing occurs. We all need to heal our energy system. Once you are aware of this you can create your own heaven untouched by the dysfunction of others projecting their negative energy. It is a wonderful freedom and one that has served me well as I heal my spirit and shift into Be-ing.
