This is not meant to replace medical treatment for sinusitis but as adjunctive therapy for in-home relief.

Breathing moist air can help so get a humidifier. You can also simply take a long, hot shower or put steaming water in a bowl, cover with a towel, and breathe the steam.

Irrigating the nasal passages can help sinus headaches too by removing congestion due to mucous and infection. Just be sure to check with your chosen healthcare professional to make sure you get an effective nasal irrigation product. Some may harm nasal passages.

If you take pain medication, sometimes these will help reduce sinus pain and help you rest. However, obviously, such medication should not be used too often, whether over-the-counter or prescription because of the risk of dependency as well as adverse side effects that may cancel out the benefits over time.

Of options available without prescription you may choose naproxen, ibuprofin aspirin or acetaminophen. One may work better for you than the other, by the way. Not everyone has the same response to even very similar formulas. Though these may help with pain, they do nothing to eliminate the cause of the sinus headaches.

I really caution against the use of nasal sprays because they eventually cause a rebound effect. Use only when absolutely necessary. Simply Saline can work just as well in most cases. Just don't overuse anything.

Clean up your breathing space at home. Put dust mite covers on all pillows and mattresses and wash sheets and pillow cases at least once per week. More if you can.

Spiritually speaking, the sinuses can point to
emotional issues, particularly those with close family members that may be attempting to surface for healing. Addressing your health on all levels of your being will be beneficial.

are your headaches migraines?
