There is a new class active on the world stage. It is international and global in
nature. It is the media class. The fourth estate was a term previously applied to the media,but now it has become a fully-fledged class that is changing, on a daily basis, the world we live in. Like rising classes generally, it is progressive, particularly in authoritarian countries. But there are some worrying facets to it, and it is becoming over-Yang, as witnessed in this country by recent scandals involving hacking and bullying.

The rise of this class is accompanied by the development of a new form of capital, which I term Information Capital. Information is a commodity and it has less constraints on it than other commodities, which are mainly material. Information Capital can increase potentially without limit. The form of capital which has predominated for the past century, Finance Capital, is in decline and the new Information Capital is on the rise.
