The fire that started in him hasn't dimmed even slightly in the 20 years since he made the brilliant documentary Roger and Me. I agree. It's an important point to make, so thanks for bringing it up. They need to realize that you can't bring about peace through violence. Peace, and I dare say any REAL positive change, will only come about when we respect our fellow human beings, regardless of how much we think we have to hold against them. Violence just creates hatred, no matter how much anyone thinks they are justified in removing so-and-so from the face of the Earth (or putting a brick through so-and-so's windshield at a peace rally). In the end, violence just boils down to killing people with families, or to instilling the same fear in other people that we dread feeling in our own minds. People with whom we have much in common. It is very hypocritical of the peace demonstrators to commit acts of violence in the name of peace.
