Ancestor Alter

Honoring the ancestors: There are other articles available online that offer more elaborate details (rules) on the construction but when it really comes down to it, the Issue is… build your ancestors alter how you feel comfortable. Build it with joy. Some traditions maybe suggest a white candle and clear glass of water but that does not count if you do not feel comfortable with it. Any color candle, a bowl or cup of water works fine, if that’s how you feel good about it. How you feel about your ancestor alter makes all the difference in the results, there is no rule book written in stone and frozen in time. So you might as well enjoy the ride. While constructing your alter be creative and enjoy the time and space while doing it.

The Mojuba’s: (ancestor prayers)
When I perform my ancestor ritual I do the ceremony for 5 to 7 days in a row and I do it at a specific time each day. I light my ancestor alter, then call out each one of my ancestors name three times, then contemplate / meditate for a minute or two and then extinguish the candle. Open and close the door.

More offerings:
Once you establish a basic connection with your primary ancestor. You can effectively connect with any archetype by simply making a specific offering that aligns with that specific archetype. For example, offering a jar of honey triangulates sweetness and joy. That is, if you find joy in the honey like I do.

The River

My uncle is a Christian minister and long time ago we were visiting together. During our dinner together he proceeded to try to convince me ... exact words "you better get your feet towards god"... (I'm thinking hmmm where is god not?). Next he went into great length to explain to me that my African drumming would condemn me to eternal hell. He went into great details that were more than incredible; I mean he knows his bible stuff ok. He said that my friend Osun would forever be stuck to the earth, condemned to eternal hell and never going to heaven. I’ve heard that from the higher than earth guys before. So I went to my friend Osun and told her about this, amazing thing happened, she started to glow. When I ask her why she was glowing, she said that was her destiny, to be a Water Fall that leads to a River. And she went on to show me that the earth is a wonderful place to be stuck forever.

Now, I see these guys trying to push the concept of transcendence lately and I am reminded of these moments that I shared with Osun. My path is more about integrating and resonating. And the thing about heaven and hell, well that’s here and now, life is what you make it.

Relationships

This triangle has to do with relationships and balance. Each individual has tendency to be stronger in one area than the others. For instance, one can bring more ‘’Financial’’ support into a relationship and another individual maybe brings more ‘’Emotional’’ support into a relationship etc. Using this template, if a couple was to map out their strong points as individuals, then overlay the two triangles together, they can better see where to focus energy and maintain balance as a whole.

That’s not exactly how Osun said it to me but maybe you get the point.

A Mother understands what a thunder storm is and she controls vulnerability, so she brings her children to shelter. That’s just one example. You may not have realized it but you apply control everyday. Just because some people try to control everything does not make control a bad thing. It is the application of control that defines the outcome. (We cannot control Mother Nature but we can control our vulnerability)

Once you know what to look for, the mystical pretentious Hollywood new age lingo becomes easy to spot.

RSS is a family of Web feed formats used to publish frequently updated content such as blog entries, news headlines, and podcasts in a standardized format. Here is the wikipedia article on rss.

This is the rss feed from my newciv page.

Above I utilized the service provided by www.feed2js.org
I shopped around a little and feed2js is the only rss to html service that I could find that does not advertise on my page. Again ... So what is "Feed to JavaScript"? An RSS Feed is a dynamically generated summary (in XML format) of information or news published on other web sites. Example: newciv.org offers each user their own rss feed, so when the published content on my newciv.org newlog changes, the rss also changes and this web page will be automatically updated too.

I have my feed configured to display only the 3 most recent posts but i could have set to display them all. Also I used the style wizard that is available at feed2js to create my css file. If you have several blogs or websites, like myspace etc.. And want your newciv newlog to be displayed, rss is the elegant way to do it.

The rss badge above has two links, the first one takes you to the rss file and the second one validates the rss. Why did Ming put the validate button there? Hum I wonder... Perhaps.. That is there so we can check our post to see how other servers are going to interpret our feeds. Example; if you try to validate my feed you might find that the ShakuMatic post does not validate, that is because I placed invalid html in the beginning of my post.

feed2js is open source; it was created back in 2003 at Maricopa Community College. There are several servers that mirror the script so i don’t expect the service to disappear anytime soon, unlike the similar services that promote ads.

Ori - is an attribute of the five elements, five senses, and five associated body parts:

Ether - associated with the ("sound") and with the ear. Ojiji /ghost

Air - associated with the ("feeling") and with the skin. Emi /breath

Fire - associated with the ("appearance", color and tangibility) and with the eye. Ori /mind

Water - associated with the ("taste", and tangibility, and shape) with the tongue. Ara /body

Earth - associated with all the preceding as well as the ("smell") and with the nose. Okan /heart

Ori (all is mind); each path takes one of three "tendencies" that have become a common means of categorizing behavior and natural phenomena. Ori brings the tendency of the mind and not the state being. For instance, Ori Inu is that part of Ori which tends to bring the inner mind to purity but is not purity itself. Similarly Male Ori is that part which tends to bring the inner mind to perform some action but is not action itself.

Ori Inu (inner mind) (a purpose between the poles of existence and non-existence, but it resolves during meditation into "unity") (originally " inner head, being, existence, entity") also has been translated to mean balance, order, or purity. This typically implies that a person with correctly triangled Ori Inu has a balanced state of mind. Such a person is psychologically balanced.

Male Ori (masculine:: "exist" or "positive" +1) (originally "atmosphere, air, firmament") leads one to activity. This type of activity is explained by the remote force that creates desires for acquiring new things which also can bring fears of sudden change or losing something that one has. These desires and fears often lead one to activities which create imbalance within our temporal everyday life.

Female Ori (feminine:: "not-exist" or "negative" -1) (originally "darkness", "obscurity") has been wrongly translated to mean "too inactive", negativity, lethargic, dull, or slow. Usually it is wrongly viewed when associated with darkness, delusion, or ignorance. Which also can wrongly imply that a person has a self-destructive or entropic state of mind? Any person maintaining a bias view is constantly pursuing destructive activities as "inertia".

The concept of Ori is an ancient procedure for merging polarities and creating balance. At first glance we can see Ori (feminine, inu, masculine) looks like a triangle based process. A closer inspection confirms that it is indeed both a duality or polarity technique, and that third leg of Ori is unity. As unity often appears as oneness with the universe, then it is no surprise that ancient priests named that unity the Big Ori.

The concept of Ori properly encompasses the routine pattern of polarity which is

Modern psychology is a dead horse and folk psychology is a wide open frontier: Sigmund Freud's psychoanalysis never claimed to offer a cure. In psychoanalysis, the word psyche refers to the forces in an individual that influence thought, behavior and personality. Freud stole the word 'psyche' from ancient Greek, which referred concept of the self, encompassing the ancient ideas of soul, spirit, and mind. The Greeks believed that the "psyche" was responsible for behavior. (where did the Greeks get their knowledge?) Short-sighted sticky-fingered bandits have been pirating our words. Emotional Martial Art aims to make a firm decision about certain words, specifically the words that have been framed to mean something their not.

For instance, the word "pirate" itself has been taken over by the big content companies.
They mean "anyone who shares files". Real pirates murdered, raped and stole. They didn't share music, rightly or wrongly.

For instance, "intellectual property" refers to ideas. Ideas aren't property. Not only one person can "own" them. It's a bad metaphor leading to corrupt laws.

For instance, "devotee" refers to commitment. One who is ardently devoted to something, an enthusiast or advocate. Not fanatical adherent of a cult.

For instance, "hotel guest" pretends that people who pay money to stay in a building are somehow guests.

For instance, "psycho-analysis" assumes that every psyche is incurable.

When certain words are reconnected to their proper significance, only then will Emotional Martial Art offer effective long term results.

Mental Health and Tax Relief: when the president of the United States suggested "Tax Relief" he framed the word relief. wait a minute??? pain from what? Taxes, big ouch! Most people did not even know they needed relief; why do my taxes have to be so painful? This is called a linguistic frame-up; it’s a set up, a scheme to incriminate the innocent, the outcome of which is fraudulently prearranged. The combined words 'Mental Health' are also a frame job. If there is nothing serious or physically wrong with your brain, then it is working perfect, and so... there is no such thing as mental health. As time goes on I become more and more certain, consciousness is not fragile, and well being is a choice.

Kicking the Dead Horse, Modern Psychology; a computer does not get a virus, the programming does. The computer works fine or else the virus would not exist, likewise for the human brain. The fact that bad behavior creates imbalance is proof that the mind is working perfect. The brain works so perfect that it creates the problem when necessary. The computer works so well that the programmer can create a problem. There is nothing wrong with the human mind, people only think there is, and that very thought is a virus.

Redlining: in economics 'Redlining' is the practice of denying or increasing the cost of services, such as banking, insurance, access to jobs, access to health care, or even supermarkets to residents in certain, often racially determined areas. One of the most devastating forms of economic redlining, and the most common use of the term, refers to mortgage discrimination. The term "redlining" was coined in the late 1960s by community activists in Chicago. It describes the practice of marking a red line on a map to delineate the area where banks would not invest. During the heyday of redlining these areas were most frequently minority inner city neighborhoods.

For the Emotional Martial Artist the metaphor 'Redlining' describes the practice of marking a red line on their emotional map to delineate the area of life where they would not tolerate.

The Big Three: refers to race, gender, and sexual orientation. Redlining the big three on any level, whether expressed internally or externally, the act will create mental imbalance. Emotional Artist cannot begin a reliable psyche self-defense until fully transcending the big three. Authentic transcendence means to transcend and include, not exclude. You may think that this does not apply simply because you do not discriminate... mind that what you are witnessing is also the blindingly obvious. New devotees soon find that they were very involved and very bias, The big three has become so big that it is more often than not, blindingly obvious.

The Heart: This has long been used as a symbol to refer to the spiritual, emotional, moral, and in the past also intellectual core of a human being. As the heart was once widely understood to be the seat of the human mind, the word heart continues to be used poetically to refer to the soul, and stylized depictions of hearts are extremely prevalent symbols representing love. However, more realistic depictions of human hearts tend to have macabre connotations of death and violence, quite unlike the concepts associated with the poetic and symbolic heart. This discrepancy is a common source of bad charactor.

The Heart is the seat of the human mind, the core of human-being, and the heart communicates with the head. It’s a one way connection; the heart cannot hear the head. Or in other words, the head cannot command the heart. There are two sides of reality, one side is temporal and the other is non-linear. The heart exists on both; it is the nonlinear side of the heart that speaks to us. The nonlinear side of the heart does not change, it is timeless and pure. It is the exact same heart you were born with, and it cannot be hurt or broken.

Predator or Prey; whether a victim or not, the Emotional Artist can restore mental balance to anchor peace of mind and empower themselves to the fullest. Neurodiversity is the highest level that the Emotional Martial Artist can achieve. The entry level devotee is given the tools to examine and remove all the Redlining that has accumulated. Once accomplished the side effects include increased IQ and memory (noble mind), and reliable psyche self-defense. Only then can the devotee begin to witness what’s truly in the heart. And only then can the devotee begin redlining the opposition from a fix strong position, from the heart.

E + motion = energy + motion; the human being creates a mental state that arises spontaneously rather than through effort. And these sudden changes are often accompanied by physical changes. This ability to shape shift is a byproduct of energy in motion; in other words, shape shifting it is not the goal.

Emotional Martial Art; the first goal is devotion to remove emotional blockage and witness the spontaneous shape shift.

Entry level devotees realize that energy blockage creates a painful reaction in our everyday temporal life. A reaction often causes us to say or feel things like “I did not mean to do that” or “that’s not who I really am”. This emotional blockage creates a state of mental agitation or disturbance and lack of control, a form of slavery. Entry level devotees understand that they cannot control painful reactions and therefore choose to remove the cause.

The emotional blockage is created by redlining the opposition from the head. The redline district in the mind causes the painful reaction because it directly contradicts what is in the heart. The only reason people hurt people is because of pain, and the only exception to this fundamental truth is that they did not know what they were doing.

An advanced level devotee realizes a cool connection is most effective. Redline districts are easily identified by temper. A hot temper is obvious symptom and indicates a specific redline district.

The Mirror Image; it takes one to know one. Every redline district offers a direct beam into personal history. The human mind works perfect, everything has been recorded. When the devotee points a finger they understand there are six pointing back.

Each Redline district; is composed of six components of memory, only the top component needs to be identified and the whole district is then neutralized; No more reaction. The devotee is able to live in accord instead of react old memories.

The Box of Mirrors; it takes one to know one. This metaphor designates the basic tenet of Emotional Martial Art. The entry level devotee realizes a mirror image is one of the most fundamental laws in the universe. An advanced level devotee can integrate totally into Box of Mirrors. They do have the ability to view the 'Whole' and better calculate the consequences of their actions. Emotional Martial Art is not about emotional control, it is about emotional freedom and humankinds underestimates of the power of the human heart.
