 Adjusting to 'The New'.1 comment

If my own experience is anything to go by, it can seem like quite a challenge to adjust ones perspective in order to comprehend the emerging new paradigm.
I look around me at the people living their lives without questioning what it is that goes into making their lives the way they are. Or why it is they think the way they do.
The very act of asking such questions seems to make these folk extremely uncomfortable and the response from them is often “what on earth is the matter with the way things are?” or “how do you think there is any more to be known than what we can perceive?”  More >

Being honest with ourselves, for the good of all.0 comments
6 Jun 2008 @ 07:16

It has come to my attention that there is a general tendency for people to be more attached to their opinion than they are interested in the truth. These are challenging words I know, yet if we fail to address this problem then we have no hope whatsoever of solving any of the other many problems which face humanity as a whole.

I believe that it is not too much to ask that we, as representatives of a thinking humanity, put our personal agendas aside and genuinely engage with the situation in a detached and impartial manner. We have the opportunity to grow beyond our current limited understanding (as a whole) but in order to do this effectively we need to realize ourselves as more than just 'individuals' and embrace our roles as potential guides to the human race.

No one of us can grasp the whole situation, no one of us can formulate the 'answer' that liberates us all from illusion, delusion and dysfunction. Only by our willingness to embrace and understand each others views and knowledge can we create a whole picture of what is going on here (on this planet, at this time) and in so doing together create a solution that works its way out into the civilization as a whole.

Whilst any one of us is participating from a separatist position, in the false belief that they alone have the insight that applies to all, we will be stuck in the current impasse. I urge all of us to honestly take stock of our position, painful as that may seem. It is a fact that no person of good-will would judge the genuine efforts of another to come to a position of clarity, and in fact the efforts so made will be received with humble gratitude and compassion for the individual sacrifice made during such an endeavor.

We can no longer allow personal fear to get in the way of group progress. This, wether we like it or not, is the truth and until we are ready to 'stand naked in the light of day', real progress toward solving the problems of humanity will be impossible for those in denial of this simple, fundamental truth.

It is with Love for all humanity that I make this appeal, to you my brothers and sisters, put your personal material behind you and emerge as the children of the universe that you are.  More >

Relationship between Spirit, Mind and Substance.0 comments
15 May 2008 @ 03:03

All that we percieve as having physicality, or substance is in fact a construct of our interpretation of that which we percieve.

The whole 'world' of our perceptions arises as phenomena within the mind.

Within the percieved form however lies a complex, animated process of information interaction.

The energy from which this information flows and is structured is the all pervading spirit.

The point at which we can become aware of this inflowing energy is the point where the concrete mind interfaces with the abstract mind.

The energy of all that is animates and informs a point of consciousness within via the soul. That point of consciousness then has the potential to inform the mind. The mind has both empirical and transcendent aspects as does our entire percievable universe.

 Unification of Consciousness.0 comments

There are a wide variety of approaches to the truth, many paths that lead to the same fundamental understanding, and a shared vision of almost unimaginable beauty that nearly defies description. Language fails to convey the awe we experience as we behold the truth, as gratitude overwhelms our senses and we melt into bliss. We endeavor to explain our knowing using metaphor and analogy, using descriptives that fail to capture the essence of what we know.

The constructed environment in which many of us find ourselves often reinforces one way of thinking over others, the group consciousness of the combined residents of an area can be of a quite particular nature and this is observable in the demeanor and behavior of the people, and their relationship to their environment, the care they show each other and the common discourse they share.

This topic is discussed at length in a new book currently in development at [link]  More >

It seems to be that there are many and various ways of approaching an understanding of the same thing. Within each of these ways there is a common language that helps the thinkers along that line to communicate effectively with each other and thereby evolve their understanding.

What if all these approaches were to come to some meta-level of understanding through a consensual clarification of the meaning of terms? Could we then begin to evolve an understanding that gives a holistic overview of that which we are all currently looking at from different angles?

This is the vision that I hold for humanity, a coherent, unified framework of understanding within which we can develop a clear overview and have rational dialogue, that transcends the current obstacles that arise due to lack of clarity and consensus on the meanings of terms.

I sincerely hope that other thinkers are willing to embrace this vision and that we can embark upon an amazing journey of conscious evolution.  More >

How we unconsciously resist becoming enlightened, and what to do about it!1 comment

Reflections on how the individual system responds to being confronted by its own actual state of being and the physical, mental and emotional manifestations of its resistance to becoming aware of and clarifying its understanding of the true nature of its situation (its relationship with reality), and the specific therapies best suited to address them.

An open Dialogue on the Nature of Reality.3 comments
8 Apr 2008 @ 06:31

After much reading, research and web-surfing it has become apparent that many people are operating with serious limitations upon their cognitive equipment, of which for the most part they seem oblivious.

There is, unbeknownst to many of us, an enormous amount of conditioning that we bring with us in our most vital piece of equipment....the mind.

Without the awareness that our minds are operating in ways that can distort or corrupt information, we are powerless to apprehend the truth of the subjects we seek to understand.

This situation can lead to all manner of unnecessary miscommunications and frustrations which can hamper even the most well intentioned conversation.

Even the suggestion that ones thought process may require adjustment can lead to episodes of denial and reactionary behaviour that seriously undermine even the best effort to communicate around any other issues.

There are multiple, inter penetrating layers of confusion, distortion and pre conceptions which form and reinforce each other as a result of the subtle nature of this conditioning of the cognitive lens of the mind.

It is worth bearing in mind at this point that each of us will find ourselves in this predicament at some stage and that we are all fundamentally innocent of any ill intention, it is just that we are unknowingly subjected to a proliferation of conditioning influences over which we have no control.

Fortunately there are many tried and proven methods by which to become aware of and overcome these conditioning influences with a willingness to participate being all that is required.

Given that each of us has a unique, individual point of conscious perception, then each of us will require a subtly different method of approach to the clarification of their cognitive equipment. However, clarifying the mind is the common and necessary goal for each of us who seeks to operate effectively within the context of the best possible outcome for all.

If we can overcome the general tendency to consider our own self interest as more important than the good of the whole, then we can begin to work in the direction of manifesting a situation in which the greater good can be served and the individuals who comprise that whole also benefit as a result.

What I am endeavouring to accomplish with this discussion is to suggest many and various ways that individuals can approach the subject of mental clarity, each to their own, with the hope that this better enables us to reach a holistic understanding of the Nature of Reality, and a greater ability to function in ways that foster right human relations and greater peace and harmony between members of the human race.
