Why is Kindness so important in our world today? 11 comments

I’m posting this in reply to a comment from A-d in a previous article about Kindness ..
I think that A-d’s comment merits exploration and discussion ;-)

I would like to point out and make it quite clear that I’m just moving ideas around and not for one second taking A-d to task or disagreeng with her about her comment in any way shape or form !

“10 Mar 2010 @ 18:27 by a-d : naey..food... what...????
I thought I sent links about physical Immortality the NEW FRONTIER !...in human Insights!... and why here???? you might ask! simply because that Insight alone will be/come the trigger for many people to be nice/er kinder towards other Living things (outside of the their own skin) because they will feel Hope they never were allowed/able before to express! which in turn will help them to spontanoues KINDNESS!..It is sooo much easier to be kind towards other Living things when you feel safe trusting (that life will not be ripped away from underneeth your feet any second!...)

that was the idea! :-)

See... I believe this is why KINDNESS really IS such a Big Thing!”

************************************************************************

Well A-d - your comment started off a whole series of thoughts kaelidoscoping around in my head ..

One of the first things I’d like to reply to is where you say “It is sooo much easier to be kind towards other Living things when you feel safe trusting (that life will not be ripped away from underneeth your feet any second!...” - actually A-d I’m not too sure about that !

It’s often been observed that during times of great danger animals forget their fear of their natural predators and the predators have better things to think of than preying on their habitual victims .. it’s not the first time one has seen photos of lions and gazelles standing peacefully together on the same little oaisis of land in the middle of a flood for example .... collective danger brings a different focus to those involved.

What I mean is - I personally don’t think that it's easier to be kind when things are going well ... although many people are naturally and spontaniously kind I think that the majority are simply too busy just getting on with their every day living to be KIND !

There are no guarantees in life - if we wait untill that moment when "life will not be ripped away from underneeth your feet" I think we'll probably miss the boat !
Kindness isn’t about waiting untill one feels safe ... what is safety anyway !
Most of us don't have the slightest idea when we're going to have the roof fall in over our heads .. but wouldn't it be a shame not to appreciate and enjoy the fact that for the moment one has a roof and make the most of it !
Sometimes fear can be quite paralizing but sometimes fear is liberating too !
Fear can be a tool !! It can lend us motivation and promote action like no other emotion can ever do !!

I think that kindness flows out of us quite spontaniously just precisely when we’re faced with difficulty and subjected to fear !

I remember watching CNN that fateful day of September 11 and there amidst the horror of it all I also saw the heroism and the kindness that was created at Ground Zero!

In a moment of immense shock and horror and hardship people were brought together – they were unselfish – more considerate - they were kind to each other.

Forgive me for saying it like this but there’s what I can only think of as a'gift of tragedy'.... the gift is that we actually stop and literally embrace the moment and act from our hearts! Not from greed or manipulation or hidden agendas or personal benifits .. but from ‘kindness’ !

"KINDNESS really IS such a Big Thing!” yes indeed - but I don't know if one can be trained to be kind .. perhaps one can train oneself to grow into kindness .. I suspect it's like a lot of things - a question of 'choice' ;-)

A last wee word about fear ..
another kind of fear is the fear of loss !
Seems to me that most people are motivated by their fear of losing something that they already have than they are motivated by the prospect of gaining something that they don't have !

Some people are afraid of dying for example ...
so afraid of dying that they forget to live !!!

Funny isn't it - too afraid of dying to live !
This is definitely one of those times when fear doesn't help anyone - it certainly doesn't help them to be kind nor anything else either !
But maybe that'll be another posting at another time eh !

10 Mar 2010 @ 23:31 by a-d : we tend to be
automatically KIND when we don't have to use up all our energy just to (what feels like) hang on to dear life to fight off that what is threatening us ...this very Something "out there" lurking in the etheric fields wanting to hurt us! Joie de vivre is our NATURAL way of being --"if /when "Allowed" " and when in that stae (of being) we are kinda automatically kind!... it just as one of the exprsseions of our "J d V "

11 Mar 2010 @ 05:40 by scotty : sure
lots of people are automatically kind because that's their nature .. and when life is beautiful sharing the Joie de Vivre is easy - or easier .. and in sharing it gets bigger and life becomes even more beautiful :-)

maybe you'd care to expand a bit though A-d ..... sort of "stir up the Cosmic Hornet's Nest in this safe Sisterhood Circle we have here going... See how these erroneus ideas about life have affected YOU personally" ....... and take this post wherever you want to take it - take your time and be as clear as possible please coz sometimes it isn't always easy to follow you ...

..... "fight off that what is threatening us" ??
"Something "out there" lurking in the etheric fields wanting to hurt us" ?? ..... you know what you have in your mind but it isn't always clear for other people !
( I tend to do the same thing all the time - assume that people know what I'm talking about LOL ! )

hope I don't upset you when I say that this " (what feels like) " thing reminds me of being afraid of the boogie man !
IMHO the boogie man is nothing more than an imaginary embodiment of terror in one's own mind that causes irrational fears .... not saying that the fear isn't real - of course it is - however the boogie man isn't and things like NLP therapy could perhaps be helpful in dealing with it [link]

11 Mar 2010 @ 15:52 by a-d : You hit the
proverbial Nail square!....sigh.... Seem to be getting this today from "all directions" [link] ..... quite interesting! .... A-iiiiid anybody ho-o-ome???? Yeahhh...I'm here.... and no clearer --yet-- than I was an hour ago.... before I got these messages from Universe (via -----)but now I have an angle to things I don't think I ever had before!.... a little scary! but I can feel : to understand this will help me a lot!

11 Mar 2010 @ 16:01 by a-d : why does it not show my updated version
