Can you imagine waking up every day to a world where crime and poverty don’t exist and where everyone is devoted to a better lifestyle and to enjoying their 'experience' of it ??

Wouldn't it be just GREAT !!!

Or would it !

Does anyone remember years 'n years ago watching one of the Star Trek adventures .. [link]

Good old Capt Kirk and his companions had landed on a world where everyone was sooooo happy !
Smiling faces all over the place .. people being nice to each other - kids could play safely on the streets without fear of being abducted .. there was no such thing as crime !
A perfect world full of perfect people !

There has to have been a 'hic' you might be thinking !
You betcha !!
The world was ruled by a robot !
The people didn't know it of course !

What's wrong with that you might think - at least there's peace and harmony and prosperity ..

Yeah right !
Living in perfect conditions robs mankind of knowing their full nature !
It's in the very nature of man to explore ALL aspects of his life - and when he can't find what he's looking for he creates it!

Society ( we are society ) cannot find ultimate contentment in being content !
We cannot be satisfied with our own experience for very long - we just can't - we always want we always need more!!

This wanting needing is where creativity comes from ... from our desires !

This world and the way we live in it is a world where mankind is experiencing ALL that he is capable of - and we're doing it 'now' - in the same time and place.

Everything that can possibly be imagined in our thoughts is manifesting itself now.

Life death abundance poverty the enlightened the unenlightened the aware and the unaware the gurus and the wannabe gurus - everything exists 'now' !

All the time we're being reminded of who and what we are in relation to others and our environment .... if this was not 'desirable' if this wasn't what we had 'chosen' then we'd see the 'haves' sharing with the 'have-nots' and there'd be a complete leveling of the playing field - and we'd all be equal !

With all this 'equalizing' going on we'd soon forget that there is 'more'.
Man must always want more - or we wouldn't have desire - and no desire means no creating - man experiences that wanting by having less.

We create everything and we experience everything .. the bad stuff too - war poverty rape violence ... I'm not saying that we should accept all these things...
but what I AM saying is - if there is no awareness of our 'true nature' then there is no where to go - there is nothing to change!

All is as it should be - coz that's we way we've chosen it to be !

Life is about creating !!! So .. create ! Life is about experiancing things .. so experiance them !

Enjoy ! Live !

There's been quite a bit of discussion here in the logs about things like the state of the world - global warming - toxic foods - corrupt governments - wars the world over and so on .... it's evident that some people are feeling afraid of all the changes taking place .... some are saying it’s the end of the world as we know it ! Some people think that to change all of this one should rally to a 'cause' - and if we don't then we're just being selfish and adding to the problem !

I’m saying that we all need to look at it from a different perspective. We need to look at it from the point of view that we are becoming MORE !

Human beings are not isolated from the rest of the planet .. everything is co-existing and interdependant .. all organisms co-create the environment that shapes them .. organisms are part of each other's environments - and as they change their environment changes - and then they change - and then their environment changes..
and so on and so forth ...
People just like organisms do exactly the same thing .. people co-create the communities the societies the governments and cultures that shape their behavior .. I've often said that we ARE society - so if we want society to change then we have to change !

I believe that people WANT change !!
One of the reasons I think this is because the US voted for Barak Obama !
Now I'm not talking politics here - I'm talking about how I see his being elected as being something other than politics ...
It seems to me that Obama has somehow managed to allow the American people to believe that 'change can happen' !!!
I seem to remember one of his campaign slogans was 'yes we can' !

Change is a constant process and it goes on happening all the time!
Obama offered radical change ok .. but what's actually happening is something that can't be directed or controled - and this 'change' is evolution !
Evolution is NOT the same as revolution !

I think ( and it's only my opinion ) that Obama has turned the American people minds away from the 'fear mongering' of the Bush administration and has helped them to believe that an alternative is possible !

I'm wondering if Obama hasn't put people onto the path of becoming MORE !!
Probably he didn't have that 'intention' (or maybe he did - what do I know ) but I think that something has happened in the US and that the sum total of this 'happening' is bigger than it's parts !!

I think that it's the biggest change that's happened in the world since jeans were invented !!
Ha ! so you think I'm being stupid maybe coz how can a pair of jeans be important ..well jeans has been the greatest equaliser and common denominator that mankind has ever known !
Everybody wears jeans - from kings to paupers .. men and women ..the strong the weak .. all religions all ethnics ... everybody wears jeans LOL !

Change is happening ... not because we must find solutions to world problems -
but because 'problems' helps us to evolve - to become MORE!
I said in an earlier posting that I'm not sure that's there's anything to fix !
Everything is as it should be ;-)

What I 'think' v's what I 'believe' ..

In an earlier post A-d submitted a comment to which my very first thought was
she's nuts !!
............. so sorry A-d

And yet and yet and yet ... I agree with everything she said there ! I really do !
I've often said pretty similar things myself !

So what impact did her words have to cause the 'she's nuts ' thought to flash through my mind ??

I think maybe it had something to do with the way she made her statement ..
For A-d it was a given .. something she 'knows' ! Like .. she KNOWS !

For me it's an opinion .. something I 'think' !

The truth of A-d's 'knowing' was really just too big to take in !

Maybe time to apply Occams razor to my 'thinking' ....

Here's an interesting site on the difference between knowledge and belief .. [link]  More >

Earthly Perspective...

"It is often said that we are ruining this planet with over-population, pollution of our air, water and food, extermination of species and overuse of our natural resources. Others think not, and resign such thinking as overreactive and unjustified.

Both claim the other side to be naive, self-serving and without perspective.

I would suggest that both are right.

In truth, "perspective is reality" to each person on this planet, especially when it concerns an issue such as this, that is so complex, dynamic and I would add ... uncomprehendable to human beings.

You see the very conceited concepts and attitudes that got humans into this current state, are the same ones being used by the ecologists to "get us out of it".

Human beings repeatedly make the same foolish mistake, of preteniously believing they understand something that they don't really understand in any debt. And in that false knowledge comes the source of the damage.

Humans have always thought they understood Mother Nature and how life was structured and so continuosly manipulated our environment, life, and even death over the history of humans on this planet. Breeding new species of plants and animals; introducing "corrective" or "improved" species into otherwise pristine ecologies; surfeit our naturals resources -- as if they were being "restocked in the back somewhere"; creating "improved" genetic organisms and "repairing defects" in existing ones.

That is why we now find ourselves on a planet that may well already be on an unstoppable cycle to eliminate human organisms from this planet.

You see life "finds a way", and reacts to an unfathomable, countless number of inputs and ways we are not capable of understanding, let alone know the final result of. We humans have a mental defect of believing that we don't understand is not understandable or is attributed to a god.

What has been our reaction to this threat upon our existence? The exact same attitudes and beliefs that got us into the situation. Now we "remove destructive species of plants and animals"; isolate huge sections of the planet and "protect" endangered species within and without of those areas; continue our now, "benevolent" efforts to "improve and repair" species; prevent at all costs, the natural pattern of destruction of life that has existed from time beginning; and on and on... still trying to play God, because we see a portion of the power of life. Like someone playing a chess master, who has only learned how the pawn moves, yet thinks he can play and even "win" the game.

We now continue our efforts at self-destruction, most likely causing the same amount (or more) damage to the environment, but now under the belief we are "changing our destructive ways and repairing the damage we have already done".

We have learned nothing!

The biggest threat to our existence on this planet is our mistaken belief that we can understand the incredable complexity of life and then manipulate it to our benefit. That is exactly what is going to kill us all -- unless it changes.

Yet the planet will survive just fine -- another egotistical notion of humans, i.e. that we have the power to "destroy all life on earth". Even with our most purposeful efforts to do that, we would still fail. Yes, we may well affect this planet enough so that it will no longer support human life and some other species too, whether it be by nuclear war or sufficient pollution of all earthly life support. Yet, within a short geologic time, this planet will shurk us off like a bad dream and no one will ever know that we were on this planet. And yes, it will again be green and beautiful.

You see, it is not about manipulating life so that it works -- it already works just fine thank you! Our problem is that we do not understand that we do not understand. All ecological problems on this planet stem in reality from one, and none of the others can be resolved permanently until we deal with it: over-population. You cannot "fix" polluted air, water, food; destruction of rainforests; holes in ozone layer; changes in climate; decrease of food sources; crop failures, etc., if and until we "fix" our tendency to over-populate. Life knows what to do when a species over-populates and treathens other life forms: it either finds a way to decrease their numbers drastically, or it eliminates them altogether. That can be anything from constantly mutating viruses to lack of protective layers of the ozone.

We need to finally shed our arrogant belief that we are the masters of life -- as we are, at best, merely masters of our own destiny.
~John Fife, 2002

IMHO the earth managed quite nicely without mankind and it'll still manage quite nicely when mankind finally goes the way of the dinosaurs .. man is NOT the centre of the universe !  More >
