What if, as in a B-grade horror movie, everything and everyone around you had been replaced by alien facsimiles which appear on the surface as normal, carrying on business as usual, while within the inner sanctum of the nation lurks a sinister and murderous plot to control the world and infect everyone with an evil virus?
This is how many long-time activists in America are seeing their situation, surrounded by an onslaught of neofascism fueled by ignorance and hate, led by a thoroughly corrupted cabal of corporate criminals toward a toxic and infected future. Thanks in large part to the B-grade media managers who have seized the reigns of reporting with the help of the CIA, we are inundated with self-congratulatory popularity polls and advertisements for war machinery, while unprecedented scandals go unmentioned and uninvestigated.
It's as if our entire colonial experiment, known as "America" had been bought at an auction without our consent, as slaves were sold not so long ago. Unfortunately, the highest bidders happened to be the multinational arms manufacturers, oil companies, and drug pushers. Now, with the protection of the CIA, the NSA, the DIA, FBI, DEA, ATF, etc. and their neofascist "Homeland Security" Department which bundles them together, these extremely wealthy elitists feel they can get away with anything, kill as many people as they like and have their media paint it as heroism, take away an entire nation and replace it with profitable industrial dictatorship and call this "democracy." It would all be laughable if it weren't so deadly.

Where is the outrage over the Enron money-laundering scandal? Where are the exposes of Halliburton and Dick Cheney's profits of millions of dollars from his office? Speaking of Cheney, where's he been hiding out lately? At the evil heart of the alien takeover like a cancer lies the tendrils of the 9-11 attacks, and anyone with an internet connection knows there is massive evidence that the CIA and the Bush regime had prior knowledge, that elements of the U.S. military colluded in the attacks, and that the leaders of the hijackings were U.S.-trained CIA operatives, as was Osama Bin Laden. Then you have the Rumsfeld-Reaganites' obsession and intimate relations with Saddam Hussein, arming him and grooming him.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, this is only scratching the surface of the Bush regime's scandals, and the corruption of our military system of government. We haven't even addressed the bioweapons, pharmaceutical profiteering, the anthrax, the suppression of new energy technologies, and of course, the alien space war. Any one of these incredibly wicked scandals should be enough to run these Republicans out of town on a rail, yet we see the media continue to laud them with popularity polls and heroic sound bites rather than investigations. We see the population kept ignorant and overwhelmed while being fleeced and fattened, supporting our glorious troops as they drop more megaton bombs on impoverished nations.
How has America come to this opposite end of the evolution of the European state, to become a neofascist miltary dictatorship? After all, the founding fathers did everything in their power to prevent the President from having control over the War Department. Now we have a Presidency with unlimited capability to launch both overt and covert wars around the world, thanks to the CIA. Congress appears only peripherally involved in the Bush wars. And what about the deployment of the military against the nation's own citizens? Isn't this a violation of the U. S. Constitution which these politicians are sworn to uphold? And the Bill of Rights... no longer exists.
America has a great tradition of saying one thing while doing another, of going about business as usual while poor people die, of looking the other way and changing the subject. Think about the phrase "all men are created equal," for example-- one of the founding principles of the nation. At the time it was written, apparently it wasn't clear whether Africans were actually human. And the Indians... of course the savages were akin to animals. Here you find the beginning growth of the corruption, a nation built on the blood and enslaved sweat of "inferior" people. Genocide was necessary for America's vast territorial expansion, and in ever-more sinister ways, it has never stopped. The Iraqis and Afghanis are the new Indians you see, our great white leaders know what is best for them, and we will enforce their future at the point of a gun. That is, after we kill off all the "bad ones."
It IS a really bad B-grade western mutated into a wicked science fiction horrorshow. America has never fully come to terms with the genocide and slavery upon which this economy rests. I know this because I live in the occupied nation of Hawai'i and I see the military bombing and intimidating the Native Hawaiians even today, desecrating their most sacred places, dumping addictive drugs into their neighborhoods, keeping Kanaka Maoli impoverished, disempowered, and imprisoned in their own rich land. It's happening everywhere around the world, while the McPeople of America look the other way, cheering for the next round of bombing.
War has become the end game of the nationalist experiment known as "America." In his own idiotic way, George Bush Jr. is the perfect representative for this terminal stage of the colonial expansion, defended by the flustered but eloquent Tony Blair. The major problem for the Bush-Blair war front is that the world knows more about America than America knows about itself! You see, they've been watching and analyzing our psychology, our TV, our movies, our media, our propaganda. American dissidents like Noam Chomsky may not have a voice in the United States, but they are widely read in France and India. More Russians know who Leonard Peltier and Mumia Abu Jamal are than Americans do.
And those 75% approval ratings, which coincide exactly with the percentage of white people in America-- are carried out by the same corporate interests which divert the population's attention away from the Bush regime's war crimes and corporate scandals. No surprise there. It's like asking the passngers on a jetliner whether they'd like another round of drinks, without telling them it's been hijacked by heavily armed extremists. In fact, exactly like that.

Oil is an obsolete fuel, the Bush family are criminals who belong in prison, Republicans are supported in large part by white supremacists, fascists, and corporate criminals, and the war on terror is a supreme contradiction, since the agencies carrying it out are the exact ones who created the terror in the first place. The CIA must be held accountable before war crimes tribunals and constitutional Congressional hearings. Vast secret militaries do not democracies make.

Like one of the 19th-century European colonial empires, the Bush government
is calling on Bechtel, Halliburton, and other major corporations to take
over the job of running the Iraqi colony. These companies are to act in the
name of the government. They are to be paid out of our taxes. It might just
as well be the British East India company. The colonial corporations become
the instrument of the nation-state, in this case to undertake the
reconstruction of Iraq. They, not the government, are the purveyors of laws
and customs and democratic ideals. The main instrument of the U.S. in Iraq
is not the Pentagon, the U.S. Agency for International Development, or the
Army Corps of Engineers, but the Bechtel Group. The giant international
engineering outfit has won a contract worth up to $680 million that gives
the company a leading role in rebuilding Iraq, a job that eventually may
cost $100 billion.

Some cynics claim that George W. Bush and his closest advisors -- whom
cynics cynically refer to as "bloodthirsty corporate pimps" -- are just a
bunch of vicious, shifty liars. But this column takes enormous umbrage at
the heaping of such unsupported calumny upon the good names of these great
leaders. They have been maligned, slandered, falsely accused. For when it
comes to their plans for world conquest, these so-called "pimps" are as
honest as the day is long. As we all know, the rape of Iraq (or as future
historians will doubtless call it, "The Dawn of the Shiite Empire") was
planned openly several years ago by a hard-right agitprop cell led by Dick
Cheney and Don Rumsfeld. Now it turns out that the recent big-monkey
chest-beating aimed at Syria -- threats of sanctions, "surgical" strikes,
and "regime change" -- was also carefully planned, by many of the same
people, long before the Bush Regime seized power.
As we've often reported here, in September 2000 the Cheney-Rumsfeld outfit,
Project for the New American Century, proudly published their blueprint for
the direct imposition of U.S. "forward bases" throughout Central Asia and
the Middle East. They even foresaw the need for what they called a "Pearl
Harbor-type event" to galvanize the American public into supporting their
ambitious program. Their reasons for this program were also stated quite
openly: to ensure U.S. political and economic domination of the world,
while strangling any potential "rival" or any viable alternative to the
rapacious crony capitalism favored by the PNAC extremists. This dominance
would be enforced by the ever-present threat -- and frequent application --
of violence. (A tactic known elsewhere as "terrorism.")

Bush administration argued that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass
destruction, but some officials now privately acknowledge the White House
had another reason for war - a global show of American power and democracy.
Officials inside government and advisers outside told ABCNEWS the
administration emphasized the danger of Saddam's weapons to gain the legal
justification for war from the United Nations and to stress the danger at
home to Americans. "We were not lying," said one official. "But it was just
a matter of emphasis."

The economics behind the Iraqi invasion
In October 2000, as a political gesture, Saddam Hussein converted Iraq's
foreign currency reserves from US dollars to Euros and announced all Iraq's
future oil trades will be conducted in Euros. At the time, Iraq made a
substantial loss on the conversion, but the continuing improvement of the
Euro against the US dollar has recouped that loss and, in fact, made a
profit of 25% on the overall transaction. It was a lesson that did not go
unobserved internationally. At a recent OPEC meeting the cartel seriously
considered trading oil in Euro contracts. There was enormous pressure from
the US to prevent this and so the idea was shelved. However, Iraq, Iran,
North Korea (all 'axis of evil nations surprisingly), Venezuela, China and
Russia have all recently stated an intention to conduct oil (and other

Doing business with the enemy is nothing new to the Bush family. Much of the Bush family wealth came from supplying needed raw materials and credit to Adolf Hitler’s Third Reich. Several business operations managed by Prescott Bush – the president’s grandfather - were seized by the US government during World War II under the Trading with the Enemy Act.
On October 20, 1942, the federal government seized the Union Banking Corporation in New York City as a front operation for the Nazis. Prescott Bush was a director. Bush, E. Roland Harriman, two Bush associates, and three Nazi executives owned the bank’s shares. Eight days later, the Roosevelt administration seized two other corporations managed by Prescott Bush. The Holland-American Trading Corporation and the Seamless Steel Equipment Corporation, both managed by the Bush-Harriman bank, were accused by the US federal government of being front organizations for Hitler’s Third Reich. Again, on November 8, 1942, the federal government seized Nazi-controlled assets of Silesian-American Corporation, another Bush-Harriman company doing business with Hitler.

Is America Becoming Fascist?
The similarities between American fascism and particularly the National Socialist precedent, both historical and theoretical, are remarkable. Fascism is home, it is here to stay, and it better be countered with all the intellectual resources at our disposal.
With all of Germany's cultural strength, brutality won out; the same analysis can apply to America. Hitler never won clear majorities; yet once he was in power, he crushed all dissent. Consider the parallels to the fateful election of 2000. Hitler's ascent to power was facilitated by the political elites; again, note the similarities to the last two years. Hitler took advantage of the Reichstag fire to totally change the shape of German institutions and culture; think of 9/11 as a close parallel. Hitler was careful to give the impression of always operating under legal cover, even for the most massive offenses against humanity; note again the similarity of a pseudo-legal shield for the actions of the American fascists. A short history of the Bush Mafia's war in Iraq

In some of his best writing ever, former West Point instructor and retired U.S. Army Special Forces Master Sergeant Stan Goff breaks down for us what really happened in the Iraqi war, with our media, and to us here at home. As the so-called coalition prepares to declare "Victory", Goff reminds us and perhaps tells many for the first time how the Iraqi campaign was actually fought. His research, instead of relying on America's despicable pretense at journalism also included: The Independent UK, Le Monde, The Herald, The Hindu Times, The Asia Times (an excellent paper), Al-Jazeera, and the Financial Times. It parallels exactly what I saw in European television coverage during a recent trip to Amsterdam.
The difference is not one of interpretation or bias. It is first a difference of which events get told and which do not. Massacred women and children seen by a New York Times photographer are not elements of spin. Massacred Iraqi soldiers with white flags of surrender still beside their bodies are not propaganda. These are crimes. Most will be surprised to learn that U.S. troops intentionally provoked the looting of Iraq's priceless antiquities. And I have not heard a single mention in American media about the extent to which depleted uranium was employed, or the fact that its dust - which will remain poisonous for four billion years - will be killing perhaps hundreds of thousands of people for decades and certainly long after Saddam's memory has faded behind the images of our next stage-managed crisis.
Goff has the courage to say two things that only he can say with force: First, Saddam Hussein was a symbol of anti-imperialism and those in the world who hoped for a better showing from him were right in thinking that he was the lesser of two evils. Saddam was a chance to check an insanity that seems more contagious and far more deadly than SARS. Saddam is no longer a potential threat to anyone. But what of Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz and George Bush and their Neoliberal alter images? Soon, I will be concluding a detailed investigation on how the Empire very likely rigged even that game and allowed Saddam to escape to Russia in exchange for a quick victory that may not endure.

Rumsfeld's war plan was initiated on the 20th of March, with expectations that the high-tech advance northward from Kuwait would resolve all major tactical difficulties within two days. Simultaneously, another Rumsfeld scheme, "decapitation" strikes, was launched to target Saddam Hussein. The whole venture was designed to come off like Bill Gates meets Caesar.
Instead, it came off like Orwell meets Al Capone.
The Orwellian aspect, of course, was an American press that can no longer lay even the scarcest claim to being journalists, and its complete merger with the Department of Defense, specifically Central Command (CENTCOM).
Beginning almost immediately after the first tanks crossed their lines of departure into Southern Iraq, we were witness to the surreal recurring spectacle of the CENTCOM-Lie-of-the-Day - a parade of spin doctors from the military, which included the actual commander, Tommy Franks, who would make erroneous and often ridiculous claims about the progress of their aggression - even as the entire Rumsfeld lunacy unraveled before the eyes of the world in the face of sparse, but extremely courageous and totally unexpected, Iraqi resistance.

'heroic') are all designed to suck in the vulnerable young soldier and the

for the soldiers to talk to when needed (remember Sidney in M.A.S.H.?).
There has never been, in history, a crop of young soldiers who were so

material. I think it is extremely significant that British and Australian
soldiers were not reported as engaging in the excesses of violence that the

Corporate Media and Homeland Security Move towards Total Information Control

Freedom of information in American society is in danger because corporate media needs to maintain access to official sources of news. Consolidation of media has brought the total news sources for most Americans to less than a handful and these news groups have an ever-increasing dependency on pre-arranged content.
The 24-hour news shows on MSNBC, Fox and CNN are closely interconnected
with various governmental and corporate sources of news. Maintenance of
continuous news shows requires a constant feed and an ever-entertaining
supply of stimulating events and breaking news bites. Advertisement for
mass consumption drives the system and pre-packaged sources of news are
vital within this global news process. Ratings demand continued cooperation from multiple-sources for on-going weather reports, war stories, sports scores, business news, and regional headlines. Print, radio and TV news also engages in this constant interchange with news sources.
The preparation for and following of ongoing wars and terrorism fits well into the visual kaleidoscope of pre-planned news. Government public relations specialists and media experts from private commercial interests provide on going news feeds to the national media distributions systems. The result is an emerging macro-symbiotic relationship between news dispensers and news suppliers. Perfect examples of this relationship are the press pools organized by the Pentagon both in the Middle-East and in Washington D.C., which give pre-scheduled reports on the war in Iraq to selected groups of news collectors (journalists) for distribution through their individual media organizations.
Embedded reporters (news collectors) working directly with military units in the field must maintain cooperative working relationships with unit commanders as they feed breaking news back to the U.S. public. Cooperative reporting is vital to continued access to government news sources. Therefore, rows of news story reviewers back at corporate media headquarters rewrite, soften or spike news stories from the field that threaten the symbiotics of global news management.
Journalists who fail to recognize their role as cooperative news collectors will be disciplined in the field or barred from reporting as in the recent celebrity cases of Geraldo Rivera and Peter Arnett.
Journalists working outside of this mass media system face ever-increasing dangers from "accidents" of war and corporate-media dismissal of their news reports. Massive civilian casualties caused by U.S. troops, extensive damage to private homes and businesses, and reports that contradict the official public relations line were downplayed, deleted, or ignored by corporate media, while content were analyzed by experts (retired generals and other approved collaborators) from within the symbiotic global news structure.
Symbiotic global news distribution is a conscious and deliberate attempt by the powerful to control news and information in society. The Homeland Security Act Title II Section 201(d)(5) specifically asks the directorate to "develop a comprehensive plan for securing the key resources and critical infrastructure of the United States includingŠinformation technology and telecommunications systems (including satellites)& emergency preparedness communications systems."
Corporate media today is perhaps too vast to enforce complete control over all content 24 hours a day. However, the government's goal is the
operationalization of total information control and the continuing
consolidation of media makes this process easier to achieve.
Freedom of information and citizen access to objective news is rapidly
fading in the United States and the world. In its place is a complex
entertainment-oriented news system, which protects its own bottom-line by servicing the most powerful military-industrial complex in the world.
For the majority of Americans who depend on corporate media for their daily news, this monolithic news structure creates intellectual celibacy, inaction and fear. The result is a docile population, whose principal function within society is to simply shut-up and go shopping. The powerful would like us quiet and consumptive and the corporate media is delivering that message on a daily basis.

BBC Chief Attacks U.S. Media War Coverage

LONDON (Reuters) - The head of the BBC launched a broadside against
American broadcasters on Thursday, accusing them of "unquestioning"
coverage of the Iraq war and blatant patriotism. BBC Director General Greg
Dyke said many U.S. television networks had lacked impartiality during the
conflict and risked losing credibility if they persisted with their
stance. "Personally I was shocked while in the United States by how
unquestioning the broadcast news media was during this war," Dyke said in
a speech at a University of London conference. "If Iraq proved anything, it
was that the BBC cannot afford to mix patriotism and journalism. This is
happening in the United States and if it continues, will undermine the
credibility of the U.S. electronic news media." U.S. broadcasters came
under attack for "cheerleading" during the Iraq conflict, with what some
critics saw as gung-ho reporting and flag-waving patriotism. In one
example, a U.S. network described U.S. soldiers as "heroes" and
"liberators." Dyke singled out Rupert Murdoch's Fox News, the most popular
U.S. cable news network during the conflict, for its "gung-ho patriotism."
"We are still surprised when we see Fox News with such a committed
political position," said Dyke. "For the health of our democracy, it's
vital we don't follow the path of many American networks." Fox News
declined to comment.

FOX CANCELS KAMINSKI 9-11 CALL-IN APPEARANCE
Those bastards. I should've known better. They can't play straight
with anyone. This is the second time they've done this to me.
What I will say when and if they call back I do not know. I feel
strongly that the public needs to be talking more about this, and that
9/11 is the key to beginning a genuine reform of the American political
system. If this does not happen, I feel we will slide further into a
police-state situation, and our Constitutional rights, which already
have been severely diminished, will disappear altogether.
So ... this is what I wanted to say to those Fox shills, and what I
want you to be saying to those people you know who are at least willing
to talk about what happened then, and what is happening now.
There is no doubt that the horrible attacks of September 11, 2001
were allowed to happen by the highest levels of the American government.
Numerous intelligence reports prior to the tragedy were available to
the government, and the government failed to act on them. Worse, top
government officials lied after 9/11 and said they had no idea this type
of attack was possible, flying in the face of ten years of intelligence
which indicated that terror groups had planned to use airplanes as
weapons of destruction.
This is the one irrefutable fact you should use in your arguments
with other people: the 9/11 attacks could not have happened without the
catastrophic failure of America's air defenses. And yet, the people in
charge of those air defenses who allowed these attacks to happen were
not censured or prosecuted after the tragedy, they were promoted (and I
am speaking primarily of Gen. Myers).
Now, beyond allowing the tragedy to happen, the question becomes did
the highest levels of the American government PLAN for the event to
happen? There is every reason to believe that they did, although this
assertion is not ironclad, because so much of the evidence has been
covered up.
What looms most suspiciously after 9/11 are the rigged passage of
the Patriot Act, which took away most of our Constitutional rights, and
the cynical invasion of Afghanistan, which was claimed to be response to
9/11 even though it was planned long before 9/11.
The Patriot Act was passed, according to Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas),
without even being read by most members of Congress. (This is clearly an
act of treason, and was committed by most members of Congress.
Destroying the Constitutional provisions that make America what it is
probably is the greatest crime in American history, although there are a
lot of nominees in this category all happening under the administration
of George W. Bush.)
The president and his minions all made it clear that the invasion of
Afghanistan was for the purpose of apprehending the terrorist Osama bin
Laden, who was blamed for the 9/11 attacks (although to this day, not a
shred of evidence that could be used in a court of law has been released
to the public).
However, it is clear from numerous documents that the invasion of
Afghanistan was planned long before 9/11, so for the Bush administration
to claim 9/11 was the reason for the attack is a lie on its face.
Besides, Pakistan offered to hand over bin Laden for trial in a neutral
country, and the U.S. refused the offer. Gen. Tommy Franks went so far
as to state that apprehending bin Laden would not stop the war, nor was
his apprehension its purpose (Ahmed, The War on Freedom).
Subsequent events such as the anthrax attacks (and its trail of
evidence that led straight to the door of the government) and the tragic
U.S. invasion of Iraq (the major reasons for which are now known to be
pathetically obvious lies) amply illustrate a clear pattern of lying by
the Bush administration.
It is imperative that the American people analyze the events and
statements by Bush and his cronies about 9/11 in the context of
subsequent actions; that is to say, if they're lying about everything
else, chances are excellent they're lying about 9/11.
And all this is to say nothing about the evidence concerning 9/11
itself:
• Why did the president continue to read a story to schoolchildren
after he knew that TWO World Trade Center towers had been hit by
hijacked airliners? As many have noted, this behavior clearly reveals
Bush was covering up his foreknowledge of the attacks. That he has
provided three different explanations of his behavior is simply more
evidence.
• Any idiot realizes the hole in the Pentagon was not made by a
jumbo jet — it's just not big enough, there was no aircraft debris at
the point of contact, and there were no marks on the building that would
have been made by the wings. In addition, there is existing film of the
impact in which no trace of a jetliner appears.
• This is really the big one. How could top officials, immediately
after the tragedy, say American intelligence had no clue that hijackers
would fly planes into buildings and then two days later release the
names of the hijackers? This is a clear lie, repeated by almost everyone
in the power structure. How could they know the names of the hijackers
if they weren't following them and knowing what they were supposedly
going to do? The whole story about the hijackers is a complete
fabrication, conclusively revealing foreknowledge and casting doubt on
the story that the hijackers even boarded the planes.
As most of you know, there are thousands of other facts that
indicate both foreknowledge and conspiracy. This information is posted
widely on the Internet. It is imperative that you seek out this
information and disseminate it as widely as possible.
We are in a battle for freedom and we are losing it.
This is just a note right off the top of my head to say I'm sorry
you didn't get to listen to me torch those fascists on Fox, and to say
we need to redouble our efforts toward recruiting our neighbors and
relatives to understand our point of view about this, or else our
freedoms will continue to be taken away.
The criminals who have hijacked the American government and are
intent on enslaving the entire world under corporate fascism will not
stop unless we stop them.
Don't depend on TV or the newspapers. They're all in the pocket of
the power elite, and work tirelessly to cover up and belittle those who
are seeking the real story.
We may not avoid this confrontation, and there is no place in the
world to hide. We must stand up for honesty and what we believe is
right. And we must all take action now, before it is too late.
