I hope you are continuing to read articles from the library and if you would like to discuss anything there, please always feel free to do so. If you don't mind me asking, what did you do to change your life? Are you happier now? *** My reply: It seems that you have taken the first step already. You are acknowledging and getting ready to act on what you see in this world/society as wrong focus and wrong action. You asked what did I do? That is hard to answer...(as far as what did I do first). I was always "different"... looking for answers and focusing on topics and things that mainstream society thinks of as only "hobbies" or "pastimes". I was always on the spiritual path, not religious, looking inward and knowing that the answers to all questions would come from my spirit, not school, peers, tv or books. (although, I did always read a lot, but I knew intuitively, that what was "truth" would always be felt within.) I learned Reiki and became a Reiki "Master" (which means teacher). This put me on a path of exploration for which there was no turning back. I knew that it was ALL wrong...the materialistic focus of life and downgrading a human to a "consumer". I gave it all up. I quit my job, sold most of my belongings (except the things I needed for survival) and moved into a van. It has been a different type of life all together. The values of society are not what I/we live by, in fact I/we reject it all. Once you remove yourself from it, you can see with crystal clear clarity just how far off course humanity has gone. The human species should be highly evolved Spiritual Masters, working with the planet for the benefit of all living creatures, but as you can see, they are de-evolving and killing off everything that is natural and beautiful....and why? for their own selfish greedy motives....power and money. It matters not how many forests are destroyed, how many people have to die, how many lies are spoken or who suffers, as long as those with power stay where they are. What can you do? I highly recommend taking up meditation, educating people and being a living example. You can get the step by step instructions for living a simple life and the most comprehensive explanation for doing so in "the Survivalists’ Guide for the New Millennium" in the WMS library. (you can also get great instructions for meditating on the World Mind Society Web-page, just click the “Chakra Meditations“) By being a living example and teaching others the truth about the world situation as it is today, is by far the best thing to do. Only when people acknowledge that the truth is all that matters, no matter what the consequences may be, will there be a motive for real change that will actually change the world. As long as the intentions of money, egotism, materialism etc stay as the main focus there will always be hunger, poverty, sickness, war, greed, corruption etc...etc. It is time to truly take responsibility and become serious. I wish I could tell you of a community worth investigating, and that is actually living by higher/purer intentions, but Matt just did an exhaustive search and came up with nothing.. Although some of these communities seemed to have started out with good intentions, it appears they lost their motive for truly starting anew. They are only smaller versions of society's structures/value/belief systems with no truly different values or goals, therefore they either aren't succeeding or they are more of a business than a true community. ******************************* C: “My mother (who is really upset with me and the way I feel toward our government) wants me to go into politics, to try to change things from the inside. Please know that you cannot change a corrupt system within that system. The corruption has gone too far and too many lies are allowed to flourish. The typical citizen really doesn't care, because if they did they would do more than lip service against what is going on within our government. You only have to look over the last 3 years to see how far voting, petitions, protests etc have brought about any real change. The election for president was totally rigged, and all the petitions and protests did NOTHING to stop the war with Iraq. What can you do? STOP PAYING TAXES! As long as a person pays taxes they are complicit in all the lies and bombings. There is just no getting around it. The government is spending most of the tax money on the war, and for their own agendas, while social programs and the like are falling away. State budgets are going bankrupt and yet no one takes notice of the reasons.....they just keep paying the government as if they are doing a good job, one that is for the highest good of all and one that cares about it's citizens, and let’s not forget that the citizens really are their employers.
