You just get a couple of their people sitting at a putor clicking the 'no' vote for a week or two and everyone thinks most Brits love killing little furry beasts! 5 Dec 2005 @ 09:01 by nemue : It isn't a scam... The poll isn't scam. There are many people in the UK who want to see blood sports banned. Everytine there is a poll the yes vote increases. It is a matter of plugging away. Change will come. 5 Dec 2005 @ 09:30 by vaxen : then... ban ALL war because all war is is a blood sport on all the dynamics! believe me, nimue, i do not like to hear of nor see animals hunted for sport...there is no sport in it anymore nor was there, really, ever... the whole planet is terribly aberrated and it all starts with us. each and every one of us for at some level we are agreeing to it all. when beings are hunted to murder them there is a lot of ''charge'' sent into the environment...what, who, feeds on that charge? do you know? 5 Dec 2005 @ 14:45 by jerryvest : The poll may be a scam, but let's do keep working to change blood sport with animals and with fellow humans. I live in New Mexico, next door to Texas, where the population loves to shoot animals for sport. The majority of the population even support laws to carry side arms, much like the old Western cowboys--like Bush. People still flock to Tombstone, AZ to see the daily performances of the "Gunfight at the OK Corral." Hey, the NRA thrives in the West. 15 Dec 2005 @ 17:40 by nraye : Any middle road here? - Animal testing, millions of them, to fatten the coffers of pharmaceutics on medicine which does not really cure but suppress, plus all associated waste, does nothing for environment, helps addicts to do so, reduces living capacity, etc. Whereas, I am afraid to say, the hunting of a fox which usually wins the chase, unless he/she is old when they achieve fox apotheothis in the next world, and increase their gene pool while being chased by his own counsin breed, to spare the chickens and ducks etc on farms *(a fox will kill a whole chicken coop just for FUN) and to give livihoods to people tending and loving the land (like Native Amerindians praying to nature beforehand). To prevent the use of arbitary shooting in the country, and also poison traps, and clamping traps, they have hunts which support the whole farming community, is patronised by whole cross section of society. All far better than secret cockrel fighting, dog fighting. As a child, a gun called a "Humane Killer" was used domestic to kill animals on the farm. Tell me this is better than hunting. The joy of the hunt is not the fox, but the joining of other horses and just galloping across the countryside which receives vital environmental upkeep, which the whole world thinks comes for free and takes for granted. People skimped and saved to keep their farms, love their horses and dogs and vice versa. Try horse riding before deciding.
