(a free-style, free-play bit of reporting on and about NCN and its members and a gazette about creative writing), is one of the collaborative projects of THE MUSE, a room of/for/about Creative Writing that Invictus first launched as "Embryo" on April 15, 2003 and which has been allowed to grow (organically so) to its current setting where we feel it is now ready to be OPEN TO ALL who want to take an active part in it (or just visit.)

Our thanks go to Martha and Koravya for their active and sustained participation; to Jewel ("new-paradigm writing"), Catana and Jstarrs (thank you friends for joining in the early phase of the project); and to Shakti_ma and Swan (thank you both for your support and all the encouragements.)

Come in and make yourself at home. Post a piece, write one of your own, join/start a project or just take a look around.

Please note that Invictus and I (each for reasons of our own) are both operating under time restrictions right now and though we will be checking in from time to time, we won't be able to be around constantly. So if you have an inspiration, The Muse is yours, feel free to run with it.

and to Andy, for it was a pleasure to watch this creative duo in action.

And a pleasure, Swan, to share some of that {link:http://www.newciv.org/nl/newslog.php?did=217&vid=217&xmode=show_article&amode=standard&aoffset=0&artid=000217-000026&time=1054156902|Coffee in the Backyard} with you and Koravya.

I wonder why we can't comment anymore to Francis thought provoking log entries?

Sept 30, 2003 a month later

Did I only imagine the beautiful dialogue between Francis and Richard or was it real...My God why do things keep disappearing?

January 23 2004
This is what I mean Martha. Bringing the apples to the surface so the newslog won't sink to the bottom.

Later the same day ( 1-23-04)

Hi Francis,
Martha and I are here keeping your newslog warm until you come back. Right Martha?

18 May 2003 @ 20:42 by martha : I second that swan
It is a joy to watch Andy and Francis in action, using their creative energy to get us going. Francis, you are a giving and inspiring person to know.
-----------------
Hey, everything we need to know, we learned from Mr. Morris, Martha. What that is, I can't reveal---people will just have to read "Straw Paws" and find out ;-)

much later in the day...
Feel the energy FF of NCN and reenter at this portal...(casting a spell)...ooohhh...woooowh....swish....-------------> the time is NOW

19 May 2003 @ 07:53 by invictus : Thanks Francis...
Again : ) . I'm afraid I won't be reporting FROM Mundania... because I'm not allowing myself to be transported there in the first place. If I'm reporting from anywhere, who knows? It might be from the "Tribe of the Crow" (obscure Daniel Quinn reference), in one form or another. Haven't decided yet.

It has been an honor to pour the creative energy I have been able to scare up into this alongside such inspiring people! So thank you all.
********************************************************************

The privilege was all mine, Andy (I mean it!!!) It seems like that there are those {link:http://www.newciv.org/nl/newslog.php?did=97&vid=97&xmode=show_article&amode=standard&aoffset=0&artid=000097-000087&time=1054171345|things that you need to take care of} in your life right now, and maybe you ought to take some time (possibly some time off NCN even) to focus on those first and give them your full attention. There will be TIME ENOUGH for you to come back when you are ready.

19 May 2003 @ 09:43 by shawa : Best of wishes...
... to the Musing Muse. And looking forward to see what happens there!...
*****************************************************

"see what happens there!..." ? LOL It's not a spectator game, Shakti (though, it can be that too, I suppose, if one wants it to :-)

"What happens there" is what people will make happen "there" (or not---as the case may be.)

Anyway, since so many people, here, already carry on some form or another of creative writing on their own newslog, we thought it an interesting idea to build a room specifically dedicated to Creative Writing where people could WORK/PLAY TOGETHER on some projects and experiment with new ideas, like a Gazette (The Musing Muse), or an Exquisiste Cadaver project (Connect the dots), etc.

Talking of which, I must say that The Muse was surprised (pleasantly so, I suppose) to see that Swan and yourself went on a tangent and launched a Creative Writing room of your own ("Pandora's Box") and are now carrying an "Exquisite Cadaver" project using your own newslogs back and forth  {link:http://www.newciv.org/nl/newslog.php?did=99&vid=99&xmode=show_article&amode=standard&aoffset=0&artid=000099-000097&time=1053544970|(Echo (The Nymph) :...reflection...reflection...reflection...)}---so very interesting that---I am looking forward to see what happens there. My compliments too for the "Arte de Muchas Manos" room (I like the art but shouldn't the entries be in Spanish? And is that what became of "Ensalada de Frutas" or is that going to be yet another room?)

*****************************************************

Yeah, I know that´s it´s not a spectator game. I´m just thrilled to see how the Muse will go on, it´s such a rich space!
In the Room "Arte De Muchas Manos" the entries will be bilingual,a nice complexity, - "Ensalada de Frutas" was a specific group process which is now ended. A new group "Sadhana" has started. The Newslog will be visible.
:-)
*****************************************************

So true, shakti :-) It has been such a pleasure and heartwarming experience for me to be able to partake in that initial phase of The Muse. I think such collaborative efforts and the kind of {link:http://www.worldtrans.org/TP/TP2/TP2A-35.HTML|energy} they collect around them is an homage to NCN (and to the Cauldron) and to the good will of the people they garner. I think I speak for everyone here when I say that none of it would have been possible without the enthusiastic support and the selfless participation of all involved.
The bilingual room idea sounds great, shakti, and I wish you the best for the coming Sadhana project.

I have mentioned this before (and it would appear like Andy here is running into a similar situation, as he is trying to chart a new course for his future), it seems like I am going to have to cut down on the amount of time I spend at NCN---significantly so---for now!
I'll make sure to log in from time to time and try and keep up with what everyone is doing though ;-)

22 May 2003 @ 11:23 by martha : Time
TIME IS ON YOUR SIDE
Maurice White, Verdine White & Roland Bautista

Time is on your side
No more need in runnin'
No more need to hide
No more need to cry

Life Is what ya find
Wanderin' on the other side
No more need to sigh
No more need to lie
Make it what ya can
No more need in wastin'
Love's around the bend
No more time to lend

Hope the best to be
Just to make you see
Love's around the bend
No more time to lend
Now it's up to you
It's all up in your head
What ya gonna do
Bring yourself true

22 May 2003 @ 12:25 by martha : More thyme..oops i mean time
The Rolling Stones

Time is on my side, yes it is
Time is on my side, yes it is

Now you always say
That you want to be free
But you'll come running back (said you would baby)
You'll come running back (I said so many times before)
You'll come running back to me

Oh, time is on my side, yes it is
Time is on my side, yes it is

You're searching for good times
But just wait and see
You'll come running back (I won't have to worry no more)
You'll come running back (spend the rest of my life with you, baby)
You'll come running back to me

Go ahead, go ahead and light up the town
And baby, do everything your heart desires
Remember, I'll always be around
And I know, I know
Like I told you so many times before
You're gonna come back, baby
'Cause I know
You're gonna come back knocking
Yeah, knocking right on my door
Yes, yes!

Well, time is on my side, yes it is
Time is on my side, yes it is

'Cause I got the real love
The kind that you need
You'll come running back (said you would, baby)
You'll come running back (I don't always said you would)
You'll come running back (I won't have to worry no more)
Yes time, time, time is on my side, yes it is
Time, time, time is on my side, yes it is
Oh, time, time, time is on my side, yes it is
I said, time, time, time is on my side, yes it is
Oh, time, time, time is on my side
Yeah, time, time, time is on my side

Time to get a new car.

Twenty after one.

22 May 2003 @ 16:09 by jmarc : pink floyd speaks for me
Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain

You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today

And then one day you find that ten years have got behind you

No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
