"People meeting to 'Create' around a Theme: Including:
brainstorming, drawing, writing, poetry, multimedia, video, acting improv, discussions, interviews, field trips, web & computer technology, cartooning, quotes, storytelling, etcÂ…to thematically explore where ever our spirit leads us; A cross between a Party & a workshop. If you've taken classes before in different subjects/themes--This is different than what is offered in the regular world & it takes place in an exotic, non-pretentious, informal, comfy atmosphere."
There are usually so many people at the New Civ Salons that there will be several things going on at the same time. But it becomes a bit easier to manage if we plan some of it in advance. So, if there are a few of you who are inspired to prepare in advance for leading a segment, let us know ASAP. It could be a dialogue on a certain subject, it could be a game, a ceremony, or anything else, like what is suggested above. You just need to also be willing to flow with what the mood of the group is for at the time.
This is a potluck, so bring some delicious food to share.
Suggested entrance is $10, to pay for the venue, or if you choose not to bring food, pay $15 and we'll buy something extra.
Notice that this is Friday the 13th, right after 9/11!! There has got to be some magic in that. A time and an occasion to stir something wonderful into action.
