There are various mailing lists that are part of NCN or associated with NCN.
Not all of them are active.
The main NCN list, [email protected], is the one you are receiving this
message on. Almost all members are on it. It is mainly for announcements,
progress reports for different activities, and a few inspirational items.
It is not for discussion.
For discussion of anything posted on the main list, or for any other
general new civilization subjects, we have the [email protected]
list. If you want more than the main list, this would probably be the
second list you would subscribe to. It has been rather quiet lately in
terms of discussion, but items are posted there regularly that might not
quite fit for the main list.
[email protected] is for discussion of ethics, social laws, and legal
systems.
[email protected] is for discussion of spirituality in a new civilization.
[email protected] is for discussion of alternative energy schemes.
[email protected] is for discussion of alternative money systems.
These four have been quiet for a while, but seem to be getting more
activity now.
The creativity list at [email protected] has many members and had
intense traffic earlier, but has been rather quiet for a while too.
The list for the World Knowledge Network moved to the newciv.org server and
is now [email protected]. It is busy with activity right now, working on
defining what it needs to do.
The Celestine Prophecy list at [email protected] is busy with
discussion on an ongoing basis and has many members.
The African Spirituality list at [email protected] is also busy with
activity.
The Whole Systems list at [email protected] has many members and is
sometimes very busy. It has been relatively quiet recently, though.
The list for New Civilization Model One, an Encino non-profit organization
has a list at [email protected] and has traffic on an ongoing basis.
There are more lists, but this is probably confusing enough for now.

To subscribe to any of the lists that end in @newciv.org you send a message to:
with a message looking like this:
subscribe xxxxxx-l
where xxxxxx-l is the list name. Notice that the last letter is an L and
not a One.

For the lists ending in @wice.xs4all.nl you write to
with a message like:
subscribe xxxxxxx
where xxxxxxx is the list name. Like 'subscribe money'.

For the Whole Systems list at netcom.com you write to:

The point in having different lists is basically to have forums available
for whatever you might need them for. We are not all interested in the
exact same things, and we might have varying amounts of time and energy
available to delve into them in depth.
You don't HAVE to use any of these in particular. NCN is not primarily
about discussion. But it IS about communication and networking and
cooperation where it is mutually desirable.
If you have different needs for a forum on a specific subject or for a
specific project, just let Joachim <[email protected]> or me know, and we'll
find the best way of assisting it.
Don't WAIT for something to happen. If there is something you want to do,
or something you want to talk about, put it out there. There is no
pre-written agenda or protocol to violate. If you don't know where to put
it, send it to me and I'll pass it on in a suitable forum.
