We would like to share with you a remarkable opportunity for enabling and
empowering a great many positive humanitarian projects. We would like to
invite some serious input and thought from those of you who are so inspired.
We have been approached by a party who has access to a very large amount of
resources, who wishes to set up a series of foundations that will
administer and distribute funds and other resources for humanitarian and
world service purposes.
The whole story is complex and very intriguing. Suffice to say that we're
talking about multiple billions of dollars, and that the intention is to
direct these funds towards new paradigm, new civilization types of projects.
Some things need to fall into place for the resources to become available
for these purposes, and the outcome is in no way guaranteed. However, our
intention is to create the structure to be in place to channel these
resources when and if they become available.
There will be certain fundamental aims and guiding principles. These remain
to be fully formulated, but will be along the lines of supporting and
creating activities and projects that are empowering, that teach people how
to fish, rather than just giving them fish; that are self-sustainable and
in harmony with nature; that promote or facilitate free communication; and
that provide deep-rooted permanent solutions, rather than quick fixes.
The foundations' fundamental approach is towards whole systems design, and
bottom-up grass-roots organization, rather than centralized control. The
foundation's overall purpose includes improving the quality of life for
all, while maintaining respect for diversity.
We would like to invite your input into the overall structure of such a
foundation, broad categories of projects and activities that would fit into
it, and any design work you might know about along these lines. Don't send
in specific requests for funds for projects, as it is too early for that.
At this stage we are interested in formulating the design of the "meta"
levels of this network of foundations, not in evaluating detail projects.
We will also need some suitable celebrities and front-runners who are
willing to be part of advisory boards for such a network of foundations.
Some of you people here would certainly qualify, and suggestions or
contacts to others would be welcome.
If nothing else, take this as a thought experiment to expand the scope of
what we can do. Imagine that billions of dollars were suddenly made
available, dedicated to supporting a new civilization and making the world
work for all of us. What would we do with them, and how would we organize
the doing? We invite you to join with us into a New Civilization Foundation
mastermind group.
