Frank Patrick Herbert (October 8, 1920 – February 11, 1986) was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful American science fiction author. He is best known for the novel Dune and its five sequels. The Dune saga, set in the distant future and taking place over millennia, dealt with themes such as human survival and evolution, ecology, and the intersection of religion, politics, and power, and is widely considered to be among the classics in the field of science fiction.

THE INVENTION OF FIRE AND GLOBAL WARMING

Fire Definition = [link]

Current data would suggest the trend of warming in our planets atmosphere and oceans,

creating a condition of a somewhat uncontrolled experiment.

Research indicated that the advent, invention and use of fires' by humanity would seem to be

a major contributing factor,ie; 90% of scientists saying humanity is resposible for 90% of

current global warming.

I questioned how?

How could us puny humans cause something so far reaching.

The answer lies in the past. Apparently humanity has consistently and globaly using fire

since its discovery 400,000 thousand years ago.

And therein in lies the smoking gun. Humanity and proto-humans have been artificially and

indiscriminately heating the planet and atmosphere for a prolonged and accumulated period of

400,000 years, not to much in terms of the planets age but enough apparently to cause the

current situation which may have set in motion and undesigned experiment with the planets

organs and such.

How much excess heat would be generated in and by 400,000 years of careless use or ? of

fire, is I suppose, a moot question as we now face the consequences of that discovery and

progress.

Certainly we must all contribute to the well being of mammality and the planet itself if we

are to mitigate our forefathers lack of knowledge and foresight in this regard which

afterall, represents the accumulated error of 6000 generations of humanaity.
