I was just going over your book again, on the subject of designing the anthroposphere
and a flood of thoughts came in response to your words.
I suppose the most significant was perhaps the realization that the city is just another kind of biome (biological community) and so what we have is not so much an anthroposphere on Earth but a biomosaicsphere.
Define? Well I see a BIOMOSAICSPHERE as or is or would be a huge mosaic of biomes on the sphere of the Earth.
Going to your reference to and of Urban Ecology or Garden Cities, I would put forth that
"cities" are different kinds of biomes with "hyper inputs and outputs"... ie people, planes, trucks, cars, trains, resources, wastes, goods and services, info. energy etc..
As well cities seem to govern upon a "moral mathematics" basis rather than a health or quality perspective and oft neglect the "needs of the Earth." As well its is not just to "maintain life" but to "Regenerate or Enhance it" as well or as Noah reference says "to replenish the Earth." ( Genesis, holy bible k james 1611 England)
In terms of metabolism or cognition, I envision a Biomosaicsphere would use rather "bioinformatics", "bio-metrics" and "bio-regionalism governance" as it parameters.
Well I suppose that is enough or to much to digest but i just wanted to share the fruits of your muse.

Well how bout a twist or pitch up to Earth Hour this year...
yes light out at 8:30 pm your time zone but then....da da
da lights on at 8:50 pm of all the carbon neutral or zero green clean energy sites in the world.... for 20 min and then off with the rest again at 9:10 pm your time zone.... a shout out of the green and clean move.... caveat....your power or site has to have at least 55% or more green clean energy to turn on at 8:50 pm. ...and then off again at 9:10 pm...... a green shout out and if you have light filters you could turn on the green filter.... and then resume normal on at 9:30.....

Well humanity seems to be saying, that life isn't worth living without our wasteful, ungreen, unstandardized, badly designed and engineered toys and tools, comforts of the flesh and life styles. Such though, seems a blatant miscalculation, under appreciation and shallow view of the miracle and privilege of simple life. But if we can and will not deprive ourselves and young of our poisons and destructive ways, then death can and surely will, for moderation is health, not excess.
And how is it we came, so insidiously, to be in the company of so many suicidal maniacs? Contact sports and their concussions? And just ask Wiebo Ludwig or the natives, where you get for defending yourself, family, property and the environment in the Province of Alta or the world for that matter. Defending ones loves for love, from and against the myopic corporate interests, gluttony and insanity. Such whose agenda and probability of alls demise increases daily. Against such wholesale and wanton corporate and legal injustice and corruption, who can stand, save in prison or upon ones own grave.
Our global house is on fire and despite appearances, death is not fun. If we do not douse the flames there will be no house to call and be home and we, if we survive at all, will be back at the cave at any rate and by our own foolish hands and thoughtless minds, all for want of the calculation, foresight or even consideration of the global costs and cleanups of our enterprises and doings, now, downstream and time.
Sad, I thought we were better. Seems I was mistaken.
Pray that the future, if it endures, is wiser and more able and caring.
What can we do? Do with greener, less or without, for the sake of the now and hereafter! For the young, preoccupied or forgetful will assume or think the "abnormal" the norm, for they have less "real" norm or test of time and reason, upon which to refer or compare and 1/3, self experimentation can be dangerous or deadly if one only has one self or one planet on which to rely or tinker.

FREEDOM DILEMMA 2016 29 jan Earth
Well true i suppose, people are free to make unhealthy life choices and overpopulate the planet as well and companies are free to sell unhealthy and dangerous products and here in Alberta the province is free to decimate the environment to gain pay to pay 1/2 of its budget to treat the seeming harm many do to themselves but still it makes you wonder and it paints a rather ugly , confusing and illogical picture of our society and of our seeming freedom to drive our species to extinction, yet still you have 7 billion customers served yet 3/4 of them live in abject poverty and need on the planet, so strange, very strange, so it seems we have some rather wonky programming at work in the name of this mighty freedom.
but really are we that free? or is freedom at best based on it being an interdependent freedom or thing. Do unto others and the planet....etc etc.

Human History 30000 BC to 2016 Earth
not sure i can agree that history isn't valid...history teaches valuable lessons that people forget or say isnt' valid anymore but history repeats if allowed like the current fight with the oil and coal companies over global warming they had a similar fight when they were trying to get lead poisoning out of gasoline in the 80s and the air we breath...both sides brought the same data to congress and yet said it meant different things...the ice cores clinched it though and we now have unleaded gas....and such again is why some suspect it was the roman empires use of lead in pottery glazing's and aqueduct liners and currency that led to accumulated lead poisoning from 500 BC to the final fall of the empire around 400 AD...
...and that i suspect was why the Romans executed Jesus...cause he had warned them about such 400 years before...not sure how he knew that lead was poisonous...but not sure how he did a lot of his supernatural stuff though...other wise why would authorities put a man healing and preaching love and peace to death....even tipping over the money tables in the temple wasn't all that bad. or even claiming to be a deities son...im sure the Romans couldn't have cared less...but taking on the lead industries of the time and threatening their moola ...now that would rifle rich class feathers..
some even say Noah warned Atlantis of a flood in 30000 BC from possible global warming or ? and they disregarded such so he built and ark instead to save not the species of the world but the races of humans..... that lack of evidence of Atlantis is thus the proof of the global catastrophic destruction of such as they now say all traces of human existence can be hidden and destroyed within 5000 years
