9 Jul 2007 @ 19:51 by Shakti @204.112.132.12 : DO NOT fire-the-grid! keeps us PRISONERS 18 Jun 2008 @ 02:08 by anandavala : response re: the grid is our prison See the article Rationality, Scepticism and the I Ching for a discussion on the I Ching itself... I had initially ignored the above comment, about the 'grid' as an actual trap rather than as just an idea that helps us collectively focus our energies within. I thought it was just a momentary expression of confusion and misplaced fear, but I have noticed that people have been searching for terms related to the issues raised in the above comment and have been finding their way here to the above comment. Realising that it is an ongoing issue I will not just ignore it. I have no personal insight into this matter so I will once again defer to the wisdom of the I Ching... Question: In the context of the issues of "firing the grid" and "the grid is our prison" please provide me with words that I can relay as a response to the above comment. The answer from the oracle first gives the general context in which the question and its answer have their meaning. Then it gives a specific pronouncement, which is the most direct response, in this case a response to the above comment. Then it talks about other issues or factors that are directly related, perhaps as a cause, an outcome, a major driving influence and so on. Response: "Articulating the Crossings" (60) changes via "six above" to "Centring and Connecting to the Spirits" (61). The Context (Articulating the Crossings): Articulating the new times. Dissolving obstacles between the spirit and human world, revealing the key moments where you can articulate and act on the river of time. It embodies a site of radical transformation where the Ghost River, the river of the past, flows through the Opened Heart and is articulated. Articulating means stilling it. Articulating refers primarily to a joint or juncture in time, a crossing point of Heaven and Earth. It indicates acupuncture points that give access to the meridians and the flow of energies in the body. It represents the critical moments in time through which things can be affected and movement harmonized with the Way. Through these 'crossings' or 'joints', the energy that animates the Myriad Beings condenses and displays itself as symbols of transformation that in turn give access to primal energy or Way, joyous words from the other shore. It signifies the second birth, the spirit that grows in the heart. Create a whole within which each thing has its place. This is pleasing to the spirits. Through it they will give you success, effective power and the capacity to bring the situation to maturity. But don't harm yourself or others. Limitations that are bitter or harsh will prevent you from putting your ideas to the trial. Expression articulating the stream of events. Things can't simply spread out, they must be articulated. Think about what realizing the Way means before taking action. Apportion the supple and the solid. Keep the strong at the centre. Express things, take action and take risks. This is the right time to articulate your situation. Correct excess, stay in the centre and communicate with others. Heaven and Earth articulate and the four seasons accomplish their aims. By using articulating to shape the measures and the times, property will not be injured and the people will not be harmed. Inspiring words from within that articulate the stream of events. Reflect this by creating measures and models of action that engender the ability to realise the Way. Work through joyous words to bring the spirit to expression. Eliminate oppressive structures. The specific pronouncement (six above), which is a direct response to the above comment: Bitter Articulating. Trial: Trap! The Way closes. Repent this and sorrow disappears. Its Way is exhausted. You want to impose harsh measures through bitter speech. Don't do it. You will do nothing but harm. If you will only give up your bitterness, the cause for sorrow will disappear. Direction: Connect your inner and outer lives. Take things in. Be open and provide what is needed. Related issues or factors (Centring and Connecting to the Spirits): The connection of inner and outer in the thought of the heart that spreads the word across the threshold of life and death. It is a major site of radical transformation at all levels and a transition to the great festival times. Centring and connecting means that it becomes trustworthy. Sincere, truthful, connect your inner and outer lives, a heart emptied and at peace, connection to the spirit, major site of initiation and creative transformation, the Opened Heart. Articulate the Mandate and then trust in it. Connect the heart with the spirit. It is a return to and of the spirit, establishing the myriad blessings that flow from the ancestors and Heaven through the act of sacrifice (surrender of attachments): benediction, celestial favour and great prosperity. It also means to drive out evil spirits. It is an offering to the ancestors and a contract to recognize partners, a jade talisman and a bronze sacrificial vessel. Through all these meanings it points at connection to the spirit world and the carrying wave of blessings and energy that pours forth through that connection. It also means moving to or being at the centre, an equal or still point between opposites. It is an arrow that hits the centre of the target. It is the "coming in and going out" of the souls from the centre, the heart and its inner animation, the activity of the spirits in the heart and their harmonizing influence. It refers to the inner world: meditation and the inner Way. Centring and Connecting to the Spirits represents an access to the thought of the heart. It opens a centre where the vital forces are rooted in the self, the inner riches hidden in the stream of life. It signifies a symbol given by the spirits that is realized, proved and manifested in life. It is trust in the images that flow from the heart and the spirit that makes them true. Note: the hidden potential within the situation is indicated by the hexagram "Jaws/ The Tiger's Mouth" (27) "Jaws means correcting the source of nourishment. Nourishing and being nourished."
