Poet tree is on vacation
The sun beating down
Rain shifted consciousness
Thinking of autumn
Faint stirrings of life
too deep to discern
bark tenderly winks
beneath the peel, there's breath
5 Jul 2006 @ 06:36 by jobrown : .... and all the rest...
...of the trees are dying!....
It is called human selfisness, pure
dressed in nice gawns and suites
but fooling only those, who want to be fooled;
the self-important ones; the more self-important,
the more dead and dying trees
are on their conscience!
One day we all have to answer to the Question:
"How did you relate to your fellow Lifeforms;
humans, plants, animals and Nature, overall?"
The PoetTree is dead.
Too many didn't understand the Poisonous nature
of their own selfishness, covered up in so called Religion!...
and the rest of the trees are dying,
one by one -in the MILLIONS,
not least due to idiotic wars fought for someone's VIP!

Might be sleeping under the weight of the dross which is rising to the surface in everyones life right now but...
Cuthulu shall rise again, my friend, and then...
Poached from N's newest log.
"The most important Dharma practice is to cease the delusions, the three poisonous minds, which are the root of all suffering, as well as the self-centered mind. All the reciting of mantras and prayers, listening to Dharma, meditating, prostrating, offering mandalas, making offerings at the altar to the holy objects—all of it is for ceasing the delusions and ego." - Rin Poached
Easy for him to say! ;) Kidding... I'll bet it wasn't so easy getting there for him, either, but he had lots of support... Try doing that in the countries we live in. Not so easy... not a lot of support networks.
There are many ''forms'' of Tan, too... so, Jeffrey san, howsa bout stop feeling sorry for yourself and start feeling sorry for me? ;) We want, at least I do, your log back! If you were in SAS I'd call that : An order however tall that may be!

He's done a lot of great stuff.

if a macro concept called "poetry" is subject to the laws of quantum mechanics, where the mere act of observation can change a particle's spin, or if we're talking pure newtonian physics where if you hit a brick wall you go smoosh, but just in case it is subject to the laws of quantum physics (and ignores run on sentences, letting them pass through brick walls) then I'd say it may just require a new view point, and yes, more cloudy winter days. Go soak up the sun, eat an ice cream cone, watch the girls in their summer dresses, and come back inspired. Doctors orders. Or skippers orders. or whatever.

"The alternative physics is a physics of light. Light is composed of photons, which have no antiparticle. This means that there is no dualism in the world of light. The conventions of relativity say that time slows down as one approaches the speed of light, but if one tries to imagine the point of view of a thing made of light, one must realize that what is never mentioned is that if one moves at the speed of light there is no time whatsoever. There is an experience of time zero. So if one imagines for a moment oneself to be made of light, or in possession of a vehicle that can move at the speed of light, one can traverse from any point in the universe to any other with a subjective experience of time zero. This means that one crosses to Alpha Centauri in time zero, but the amount of time that has passed in the relativistic universe is four and a half years. But if one moves very great distances, if one crosses two hundred and fifty thousand light-years to Andromeda, one would still have a subjective experience of time zero."

"It is easy to make a simple machine which will run toward the light or run away from it, and if such machines also contain lights of their own, a number of them together will show complicated forms of social behavior..."

Scientists slow light to a crawl BOSTON (AP) - Scientists have managed to slow down light so much that if it were a car on a highway, it could get a ticket for not getting over to the right-hand lane. The speed of light is normally about 186,000 miles per second, or fast enough to go around the world seven times in the wink of eye.
Scientists succeeded in slowing it down to 38 mph. They did this by shooting a laser through extremely cold sodium atoms, which worked like ``optical molasses'' to slow the light down. While slow-speed light now is just a laboratory plaything for top physicists, Lene Vesergaard Hau, the Danish scientist who led the project, said practical applications could be a few years away. She envisions improved communications technology, switches, even night-vision devices.
The atoms were contained in what is called a Bose-Einstein condensate, a condition created when matter is cooled almost to absolute zero, the lowest temperature theoretically possible. That's 459.67 degrees below zero. "We have really created an optical medium with crazy, bizarre properties," Hau said. "Everybody knows that light is something that goes incredibly fast. If you could possibly slow it down to a real human dimension. That was really fantastic." The research, conducted at the Rowland Institute for Science in Cambridge and Harvard University, was described in Thursday's issue of the journal Nature.

Now I'm off to see the wizard. Back at 6 bells so be ready to 'pipe' me aboard! ;)

It is probably true quite generally that in the history of human thinking the most fruitful developments frequently take place at those points where two different lines of thought meet. These lines may have their roots in quite different parts of human nature, in different times or different cultural environments or different religious traditions: hence if they actually meet, that is, if they are at least so much related to each other that a real interaction can take place, then one may hope that new and interesting developments may follow.
