Will Noynoy become an Akbar whose reign saw efficiency and good governance that led to the re-emergence of a country from the shambles of fragmentation and neglect to prosperity and fame? Or will he be a Nero of Manila who fiddles in the presidential palace as he watches his polity & economy burn upon his own behest?  More >

I have no wish to intervene in the internal affairs of Europe. However, judging by the flow of events in the continent, from the signing of the earlier treaties through the monetary union and the Lisbon Treaty, there has been a clear sign of concurring agreements without the benefit of public consensus.  More >

I was raised on the myth of Camelot by a boomer mother, born in a post-Doris Day world who just sorta 'missed' the 60s, perhaps due to her reaction to the killings... So in our isolated world in an idillic suburb outside Portland Oregon, I was raised on this myth... honestly believing the civil rights movemetn had happened and that indeed women and 'blacks' were free and equal. I remember going to a 'kinder-college' whereby the teacher taught us about civil liberties and even the right to burn the flag! Wow! Well like the rest of my Gen X, the 80s were a terrible wake up call. I was a gifted honors student who basically 'sold out' to the yuppie dream -- once I realized with so much disheartened apathy, that the myth was just that.... Lapse dissolve to a decade of self-help LA lifestyle personal 'work' later, I left the meaningless corporate grid sell-out game to a road less travelled... at 32 years old I ran for the olde countries, based myself in the UK and did research on a deep and meaningful book... got married, had a child, started and closed a business and alas after 9 years ran back to the America of my dreams... I was registered in Oregon so got to vote by mail there although Chantal my beautiful 7 year old and I, are now ensconced back in LALA lande...

Meeting Bill Clinton in Oregon was a highlight of my life. I loved the Clintons due to their passion and well, internationally he is so VERY highly regarded by the intelligentsia for his work in Israel, Ireland, and Africa... Just before I left the UK, I had 'fortnightly' meetings with American moms. There were 4 of us. Two were on the fence toward Obama and 2 were on the fence toward Hilary. I was in the latter camp. I really wanted to move back to America and change my mind.. but I truly didn't know you well enough and had really always been a fan and supporter of the Clinton's core principals... but everything changed when Hillary stepped down. What a week! Her speech and YOURS - allowed me to move forward behind you... When I was in the UK my favourite speech you gave was on Race. I was sorely disappointed how the full transcript and video was rarely showed by the mainstream media... I was also btw very disappointed in your FISA vote, and feel that was giving away Constitutional rights!

But Denver and Palin changed everything. You became stronger, and the Movement became more important. I began to trust you. We all did. And also it was as you said, not really about YOU - it is about US. We ARE all in it together. I love oration. I was taught to recite the Gettysberg Address by heart at 12 years old. We became deeply moved and inspired by your words, and your promises, and your AUTHENTICITY. Emails about 'the truth' became stupendous. We gave small amounts here and there, bought the T shirts and the bumper stickers, and even made phone calls.

I remember when I was at your Victory speech party in Hollywood, everyone was talking about their personal email they got before you addressed the crowds at Grant Park!

I seriously couldn't believe it. It was as if my birth and the purpose and meaning of the times I was born -- was FINALLY full circle. Like Camelot was a brief shining moment. And this is the Aquarian Age. The Real Deal. Not the New Deal. But the REAL Deal !!!

i was overwhelmed with hope, longing, a sense of History and a sense of Purpose, for the collective... not at all attached to my own story... but totally enthralled with the story we are here, to now, write, and rewrite, together!

If it weren't, I feel, for mobilized INDEPENDENT media by people like Moveon, CommonDreams, and Huffington Post, you would not have made it. I think you ran an unprecedented campaign, but also if it weren't for H. Wasserman and the guys that were exposing the GOP corruption in Ohio 2004 - it would not have gone the way we saw it. I personally would bet a million dollars that you won by a much larger percentage! I think everyone knows this is true...

One word of advice -- nip that media elite in the butt with their insane rhetoric that this is NOT a sea-change and that you only won by pretending to be centre-right! Your mandate is PROGRESSIVE! Please keep it that way - that's what the people want!!

Finally my daughter Chantal, 7, British born, would always say when she met a McCain supporter... 'but he is not going to help our country'... !!!!

And I am sooo happy I came home to be a part of all of this! What an honour! What a blessing! What a TRIUMPH of the human spirit!

We did it!!!!  More >

A Boy Named Sue and the False American Dream19 comments

Amidst concerns for the future of mankind, shortly after a nice little home-brewn monetary crisis, here comes the new American dream, revisited 2008: Barack Obama.

Fascinating to watch how the mass media switches from whining to hoping, worldwide, unisono, of course, with no major newspaper detracting. This alone should give you to think: how come? Where's the catch?

First of all, the actual politics is made by 545 people, see Merlin's wise words [link] !

Even more of concern should be Obama's team. Quote from [link] : "Obama's main overall image adviser and foreign policy adviser is Zbigniew Brzezinski, the co-founder of David Rockefeller's Trilateral Commission, and the mastermind of the disastrous Carter administration."

What about economy: (again quoted) "From Wikipedia: 'Austan D. Goolsbee is an economist and is currently the Robert P. Gwinn Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He is also a Research Fellow at the American Bar Foundation[1], Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and a member of the Panel of Economic Advisors to the Congressional Budget Office."

So, there you have it! Nothing NEW, in the contrary, America goes back to the time of Jimmy Carter, congratulations, good luck, folks!

Obama in short: new face, same old...

But enough of this negativity! Let's "think positive" for a moment! Let's go..

WHAT IF, yes, what if the idea that is supposedly behind the masterplan of our rulers were true? Meaning, that the interpretation of Kant's 'thesis-antithese-synthesis' were correct, which would, in the extreme, mean that 'war creates evolution of man' (or at least accelerates it)?

A bold move, which reminds me of:  More >

In lieu of the recent "elections" I am introducing Anne's article with a sentient reminder from Judge Andrew Napolitano in hopes that perhaps a few will read his 'stuff' and via that lens review just what an Obama 'presidency' forbodes. Centrism and Marxism are anethema to freedom and liberty. Be forwarned and rebuild the levees of your shattered minds with something of worth. At present the America of the 'Founders' is no more and remains a slowly dying ember in the hearts of those who once had a dream. Obama means fascism will tender it's already tight reign over the hearts and minds of the people with more of the same Franklin Delano Bush policy. Redistribution of wealth does not mean freedom and liberty for all. On the contrary it is a subtle form of enslavement to the ideals of the cowardly princes of resident Oligarchy.

"Mr. President, what new natural disaster, exacerbated by political incompetence, will the federal government pay for next? The remedy for political incompetence is not more money in the hands of the incompetents, it is to vote the bums out of office. Mr. President, who re-built Galveston after its flood and Chicago after its fire and San Francisco after its earthquake? Free enterprise and low taxes; not the federal government.

"President Franklin Roosevelt's favorite Supreme Court justice, Felix Frankfurter, who spent a lifetime justifying the New Deal under the Constitution, had a change of heart at the end of his career. When he proclaimed that the Constitution was not written to enable the federal government to right every wrong, he was trying to amend his past and send a warning to the future. Was anyone listening?

No He Can't

by Anne Wortham

Fellow Americans,

Please know: I am black; I grew up in the segregated South. I did not vote for Barack Obama; I wrote in Ron Paul's name as my choice for president. Most importantly, I am not race conscious. I do not require a black president to know that I am a person of worth, and that life is worth living. I do not require a black president to love the ideal of America.  More >

For all you who are still sitting on the fence, thinkin' this is about Obama vs McCain - or thinkin' it's not about a politician saving us - cuz he can't -

This is a paradigm shift, this is a wave, this is spiritual BEYOND MEASURE.

This is all we need - "love love love - oooh, it's easy!"

The only real Love, that Is. Agape.

This has NOTHING to do with Obama, but we couldn't have got Right Here, Right Now, without him! So it also, of course, has EVERYTHING to do with him! God BLESS AMERICA! GOD BLESS PURE INTENTION, FOCUS AND CALM INTELLIGENT RESOLVE WITHOUT EGO!

I went to sleep last night literally feeling my body bathed in the Light of the World. I could literally See bright light as my eyes closed, and I felt it wrapped all around me like a blanket of GOOD WILL... So thankful for the beautiful souls I shared the eve with in the hills. Looks like we've made it! And looks like we're going to! Full circle to my generation's living myth - infused in our childhood all the ethos of the civil rights movement, so lost in the greed and corruption of the 80s yuppiedome... alas God almighty we are free at last!

Why Portland is So Great!
Thanks Ben! You are soo right! I love you Portland!

What a Moment! - The Nation's Newspapers!

Maya Angelo and an incredible video with a great appearance of Maya Angelo on CBS's "The Early Show" this morning! AWESOME!

Ending with her great poem 'I Rise:'
'You may write me down in history with your bitter, twisted lies, you may trod me in the very dirt but still, like dust, I'll rise. Out of the huts of history's shame I rise up from a past rooted in pain I rise. I'm a black ocean, leaping and wide, welling and swelling I bear in the tide. Leaving behind nights of terror and fear I rise into daybreak miraculously clear I rise. Bringing the hopes that my ancestors gave, I am the hope and the dream of the slave.' And so, Harry Smith, we all rise.

Amen Brother's and Sisters.
Amen!  More >

Obamas World - Africa and the World beyond Poverty !? - but how? - what world?

"CHANGE HAS COME TO AMERICA" - THE WORLD REACTS [link] I read in Uffington Press Blog. But how about Africa and the rest?
I was pleased to hear Bishop Tutu speak up and was congratulating. MY hope would be to revisit AFRICA BEYOND POVERTY. Lots of work done between 1993 and 1995 with strong support from Bishop Tutu but also the Finish and Dutch governments, and also revisit not just "footprints", but proportions and consequences.  More >

Systemic Intelligence: How to teach Systemic Thinking effectively 6 comments
picture26 Oct 2008 @ 15:26, by jhs. Politics
(some recent random quotes)

More and more I see that it is not enough preaching the benefits of systemic thinking but it is vital to find a way to teach Systemic Thinking effectively. If we don't succeed in that, the majority will continue to refuse to think that way, pretending though the opposite, to themselves and to all others.

We ought to find a way to stem the hi-jacking of the Memes of Systemics by those who do not want the people to think systemically because they themselves already think very well in that fashion, systemically that is, in order to continue the enslavement of the rest of us.

As ye all know, we use the Skywork paradigm to immerse into morphogenetic field structures, to analzye them and to realign them as necessary. Doing so for some time will bring about the realization of how a system is much more than the sum of its parts. This is a realization that is born from direct observation and it seems impossible to teach this insight just with books or speeches. We could trust of the subtle forces of the morphogenetic field to bring about a global shift in thinking, alright, but I myself don't like to wait for that. There is urgency which is quite different from insane impatience that one should learn to master.

Success without inner fulfillment, without the certainty to do the right thing, without confidence in its future, fixing up things just to survive the moment, hyped motivation for 24 hours, all these features do not belong to the mastery of systemic thinking.

In all of this, we should not polarize and think that just 'thinking systemically' would by itself fix the world. Mechanistic thinking is needed where it is appropriate. As always, it is about finding the right balance between the extremes.  More >

The candidacy of Barak Obama had generated a lot of surprises and raised hopes about reversing the trends of economic decay and neo-conservative (fascist) aggression by the USA, henceforth catapulting the USA back to its role as a world leader and friend of the world’s nations. Not only in the USA but also overseas, did Obama capture wide audiences and sympathies, and his image is still moving up the ladder of meteoric ascent as of the moment.

Indubitably, the standard banner candidate of the Democrat Party for the 2008 Presidential Election, Barak Obama, is the Man of the Hour. Intelligent, charismatic, competent, and young, he exudes the aura of a Man of Destiny, and is the man to watch across the globe this decade till next.  More >
