The Hating left.
No new ideas. Just an unabashed complete hatred of Bush. The ultimate straw man it seems. You know when someone holds up the straw man, they do it to rally hatred. Probably not the best trait for a new civilisation, huh?

"It is truly laughable at the number of things that Bush has been blamed for in this world. He is blamed when he does something (anything) and he is blamed when he does nothing. He is blamed for things that ocurred even before he was President, as well as everything that has happened since. What makes Bush Hatred completely insane however, is the almost delusional degree of unremitting belief in Bush's evil; while simultaneously believing that the TRUE representatives of evil in the world are somehow good and decent human beings with the world's intersts at heart.

This psychological defense mechanism is referred to as "displacement". One way you can usually tell that an individual is using displacement is that the emotion being displaced (e.g., anger) is all out of proportion to the reality of the situation. The purpose of displacement is to avoid having to cope with the actual reality. Instead, by using displacement, an individual is able to still experience his or her anger, but it is directed at a less threatening target than the real cause. In this way, the individual does not have to be responsible for the consequences of his/her anger and feels more safe. How else to explain the remarkable and sometimes lunatic appeasement of Islamofascists by so many governments and around the world?"

The psychology of Bush Hatred.

So disliking our president's policies is also a psychological malady. Kewl...
Can someone see a therapist for this, and have it paid for by insurance? ... :-)

I had asked you to put your views up on line, so I could understand why people support Bush. So let me be less sarcastic, since you are simply doing what I asked... :-)

The statement here, as I understand it, is that critics of Bush are motivated by emotion. Specifically, these are left wingers that would hate Bush anyway. So in that sense, what they say doesn't count. What they say when they criticize our leader is really just a psychological aberation. Correct?

16 Nov 2005 @ 19:05 by jstarrs : You should rejoice that people..
...can still criticize your president.
When they can't, you're really in shit.

16 Nov 2005 @ 19:07 by craiglang : true
That's very true.
thanx, Jeff...

16 Nov 2005 @ 19:42 by jerryvest : Right on, Jeff...during the past
4 or 5 years, the press and others were very fearful of criticizing him. His hit squad is always vigilent and able to rewrite history. Obviously, we are still in 'deep shit', but the lies and criminal activity by this administration, congress, etc. is coming into the light. And, Craig, it is so true what you say about this psychological bull that is being used to make others look wrong and bad.

16 Nov 2005 @ 20:31 by jmarc : craig
when people claim someone lied when they didnt and there is substantial proof that they didn't then there certainly is proof of a certain amount of emotional knee jerk response yes. When people hold one man responsible for all of the ills of the world, yes there is an indication of something being seriously off kilter.
I rejoice that they speak their minds. How else would we know where they stand. To bad the feeling's not mutual.

16 Nov 2005 @ 20:42 by jstarrs : Hey c'mon!
jmarc ol' buddy, you can't take a position that says "I'm gonna right all the ills of the world" and then not be held responsible when things go terribly wrong, now can you?

16 Nov 2005 @ 21:19 by jmarc : what has gone terribly wrong?
must be your P.O.V. It's not mine. GW in fact himself said he welcomed critisism, see end of video in reason #1. His caveat was that it is quite another matter what is going on in the halls of the opposition as they rewrite history.

16 Nov 2005 @ 21:34 by jstarrs : what has gone terribly wrong?
ok, so things are fine.
everything is ok.
is that what you're saying?
It seems we're all down to playing with words now and those that supported Bush are hanging on to threads and slivers that he's already let go of.

16 Nov 2005 @ 23:15 by jmarc : yesterday and today
what's gone wrong that wasn't already wrong for years?

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Suddenly, I’m not half the man I used to be,
There’s a shadow hanging over me.
Oh, yesterday came suddenly.

Why she had to go I don’t know she woldn’t say.
I said something wrong, now I long for yesterday.

Yesterday, love was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away.
Oh, I believe in yesterday.

Mm mm mm mm mm.
yesterday and today

16 Nov 2005 @ 23:21 by jmarc : just remember
that bombing a nation into oblivion but leaving a scoundrel in charge is not a war. A war is when you land troops on the ground and try to bring about a better civilisation. link
