4 Feb 2006 @ 03:47 by vibrani : Now take on
Great Britain and CNN and their new Arab network and listen to what TonY Blair said about not wanting to upset Muslims. They're scared.

4 Feb 2006 @ 04:54 by bkodish : And Meanwhile That S.O.B. Olmert...
has 'Jewish' cossacks breaking Jewish heads in Judea/Samaria. G-d forbid that Jews build homes in the Jewish Homeland. People in Hamastan must be feeling delighted. The dynamic is not good. When Fanatical Muslims smell fear, they become more vicious.

4 Feb 2006 @ 05:13 by judih : decision to evacuate
Again there was a knesset decision to evacuate. That's the starting point. The question asked around here is why was there need for violence. Why were the settlers throwing rocks at the soldiers and what propagated the need to bring in horses?

Violence begets violence - so the adage goes, and look at the pain that it's all caused. Did you see the shots of those in hospital? Both sides suffered injuries. What the hell for? Where did it get anyone? Can we not rise above this sick method of freedom of expression? Must all rocks be jailed to avoid having them being thrown?

In the end, our borders will shrink, but those who choose to violently defend places where they've set up shop will bring on the worst of police brutality. And what would you when faced with someone throwing a rock at you. Would you not defend yourself? What difference does it make what religion is in the mind of the rock thrower?

Fanatical mindset leaves no room for rational discussion. Fanatics should be placed in one room to fight it out and let the rest of moderate humankind get back to the round table. Let's get serious about peace, bruce. It's not going to happen if a group of jewish settlers stage their own intifada.

The fear of a 'melhamat ahim' (war between brothers) is what has always threatened our nation, any nation. Can we not rise above violence to advance our national intention?

If we don't, we're our own worst enemy.

4 Feb 2006 @ 05:44 by bkodish : Were all the young Jews whose heads....
got beaten and whose arms got broken throwing rocks? No.

Is every Jew who wants to live in Judea and Samaria including Hebron a fanatic? No, unless you agree with Hamas, Hezbollah, the vast majority of the Muslim Arab world, and leftist fundamentalists, that Judea and Samaria should be judenrein (the term the Nazi Germans used to mean "Free of Jews").

Who has declared war against their brothers, Judih?

4 Feb 2006 @ 06:22 by judih : bruce, the decision to evacuate was made
The settlers staged a violent protest. What happened was reaction. Horses! Clubs! disgusting military reaction to rock throwing. Were all those beaten the perpetrators? No, but when rocks are thrown, response is swift.

Is every Jew who wants to live in Judea and Samaria including Hebron a fanatic? Have you lived there? Do you know how it is to 'go home'? Cars with bullet-proof windshields. Weapons and security guards. No one leaves without a buddy system.

The women I've met who live in Judea and Samaria know they're living on the edge and do so out of conviction that they are defending our borders. But they agree that if the order comes to evacuate, they will.

When it comes to violent stands against gov't decisions, I'd say yes, those protestors are fanatics.

As long as their settlements are backed by the state, they have every right to believe that they're law-abiding citizens. When that backing is legally withdrawn and they insist on staying, they are fanatics, placing themselves beyond law.

Who's declaring war? They who go against gov't decision.

4 Feb 2006 @ 06:38 by vibrani : I think
the Jews have become their own worst enemies in Israel. There are areas that never should have been negotiable. Hebron, Jerusalem, for instance. The government is not handling any of this in a good way, Judih. It might be "legal" but it's wrong.
