Not exactly the Red Road...but...
this pic is pretty close to what I saw
This morning whilst I was watering my vegetable garden. The water spray attracted a female hummingbird. It was I think an Anna's Hummingbird, but could have been an immature ruby.
She would fly and hover in the light cool spray of the sprinkler, then she would come to rest on the tomato cage and fluff and preen. She did this numerous times. She was about 8 feet away from me. I stood perfectly still, not wanting to interrupt her ablutions. It was quite a treat for me as I have a hummingbird feeder in the front yard and don't usually see them in the garden.

here is the ruby...

On the subjects of paths...the Native Americans or First Nation as some prefer, have brought this kind of idea into mainstream spirituality.
The Red Road we hear from time to time. A good path I have heard.
One of my favorite websites is "Shamanism, Working with Animal Spirits. If only for the amazing photographs alone, it is a site to enjoy in any context.

I try to notice things around me and take to heart any animal that graces my environment in a noteworthy fashion. So I looked up the Hummingbird wisdom.
Hummingbirds's Wisdom Includes:
* Ability to heal by using light as a laser from mouth
* Endurance over long journeys
* Ability to fly into small places to heal
* Joy
* Happiness
* Love
Cool, huh?
hugs,
