I posted this in the PSI room, but after thinking about it overnight, I thought that it might be interesting for general consumption.

The last week or so has been very interesting from the point of view of (unintended) mind-machine interactions. I have had a couple of instances where the computer locked up when I started using it (Yes, I know - it's Microsoft...). Both of these times were when I felt quite stressed and in a hurry.

In the last week or two, I have had rather shallow meditations, and had a lot of kinetic mental energy - not negative, just frenetic - quite creative, actually. But in meditation, it has been difficult to clear out the junk thoughts - an annoyance which nearly any meditator has probably known at one time or another. I have also noted that at times like this, light bulbs in my house tend to be somewhat shorter-lived.

A couple of days ago, I got home from the day job, and needed to quick boot up my machine, to print out some paperwork before I began my evening hypnosis session work. It had been one of those days, where things happen at too fast a pace. And so I felt a bit rushed when I got home.

When I powered up the machine, it booted OK, but when I tried to launch Word, to print out the document, the PC froze. This happened twice. So I never did get the document printed out, which I had needed for the session. So we just winged it - and it turned out to work out OK, anyhow... :-)

After the session, I was in a much more relaxed state of mind (I often find that after I have done hypnotic work, I as well as the client, both get much more relaxed). I again started up the PC. This time, when I accessed the document, it came up and printed just fine. Go figure... :-)

A similar thing happenned at work two days before, with some software I was writing, and also with a piece of test equipment software I was using. Both screwed up in amazing and novel ways, and did so at a time when I felt extremely rushed and harried. Also, the office copier broke down immediately as I was trying to run some stuff off for a meeting.

There is the joke - if you can call it that - that machines such as PCs, office copiers, etc. have built in criticality sensors, warranty timers, and demonstration detectors (tuned to the presence of senior management, customers, etc.) - all of which make machines fail at the most important times. I am beginning to experinece to just how much of an extent the quantum mind-machine interface is a reality.

I learned just that years ago with my Electronic Bernina (sewing machine) and computers also. I talk and think nice thoughts about all my electronic stuff and I have been well served. LOL

that electricity is magical in origins...and that "harnessing" is about the best science can do to control it. We hope the power will go along those little horsepaths we set up and call wires. I know a woman, who runs a county mental health agency in New York, who cannot wear a battery wristwatch because when she does the hands go backwards. I know another woman, in a similar field, whose car battery invariably goes dead whenever she is in a hurry to get somewhere. Martha is absolutely correct to be nice to circuitry (and please remember, Loopy, humans have a lot of electric stuff in us too) and I'm sure Craig's realm of relaxation helps as well.

reads my mind and summons callers when i think of them. Try that for a mental affirmation, lol. i can relate to your thoughts on the whole quantum machine/mind meld thing. ;)
