U.S. scientists have succeeded in cloning the first human embryo. Meaning, they managed to put the full DNA of an existing person into an egg cell and stimulate it to continue growing as an embryo. The point doesn't seem for this to grow into a baby that will be born, but to be a source of stem cells, cells that have not yet become specialized, and that therefore potentially could be used anywhere in the body. China is firing up its space program, is planning on manned space flights by 2005, and eventually go to the moon. Article here. It is rather strange that other moon programs were dropped, so it is about time that we can have some public scrutiny of what is really there.

"Ideas, Inventions and New Products" in Nurembert is one of the biggest trade fairs for inventors. Article at Yahoo. How about a robot golf caddy?
