I am very proud to be part of this health care work with our Wounded Warriors. We are currently engaged in research to validate what we do with soldiers every day. Our Warrior Restoration & Resilience Center is one of a kind as Gates describes and we are all hopeful that our prototype becomes available to every soldier returning from war throughout the world. I have posted a couple of logs describing some of my experiences with the soldiers. Gates announced here today. Video

Gates announced the new policy after touring the Restoration and Resilience Center that opened in July to treat combat veterans diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder. The center, part of Fort Bliss’ Beaumont Army Medical Center, uses treatments ranging from group and individual therapy to yoga, acupuncture, massage, chiropractic and hot-stone therapy.

Its goal, officials at the experimental facility explained, is to help troops recover so they can stay in the Army.

Gates told reporters he had an “extraordinary experience” visiting the new center and seeing work under way to help soldiers deal with combat stress.

“They are doing some amazing things here in terms of helping soldiers who want to remain soldiers but who have been wounded with post-traumatic stress disorder,” he said. “It is a multi-month effort by a lot of caring people, and they are showing some real success in restoring these soldiers.”

Gates said he’ll take the idea of possibly replicating Fort Bliss’ prototype program to other posts.

He also noted other techniques being developed in the combat theater to give troops additional tools to deal with the circumstances they face. “These are clearly worth additional attention as well,” he told reporters.

Gates called additional resources and capabilities to treat troops dealing with PTSD just one aspect of a two-part effort.

“The second, and in some ways equally challenging, is to remove the stigma that is associated with PTSD and to encourage soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen who encounter these problems to seek help,” he said.

But he acknowledged that not every soldier returning from Iraq and Afghanistan is getting the treatment they need. He cited an Army inspector general report’s findings that troops often forgo mental-health care because they’re concerned it could prevent them from getting a security clearance and potentially could damage their careers.

Gates cited “Question 21” on Standard Form 86, the government security-clearance form that specifically asks applicants whether they have ever received treatment for mental-health issues.

The question asks if the person has consulted with a mental-health professional or other health-care provider during the past seven years about a mental-health related condition.

Respondents who answer “yes” must provide dates of treatment and the provider’s name and address.

“For far too long and for far too many, this question has been an obstacle to care,” the secretary said.

The Defense Department has been working with other agencies for eight months to strike a balance that enables troops to get the treatment they need and the intelligence community to get the information it needs, he said.

“It took longer than I would have hoped, but it is done,” Gates said. “Now it is clear to people who answer that question that they can answer ‘no’ if they have sought help to deal with their combat stress in general times.”

New language for “Question 21” asks if the person consulted with a health-care professional during the past seven years regarding an emotional or mental health condition. It specifies, however, that the answer should be “no” if the care was “strictly related to adjustments from service in a military combat environment.”

Gates directed in a policy letter dated April 18 that the revised language be used by anyone completing the SF 86 form.

A letter being distributed throughout the military explains the new policy and its rationale.

“Seeking professional care for these mental health issues should not be perceived to jeopardize an individual’s security clearance,” states the memo, co-signed by Undersecretary for Intelligence James R. Clapper Jr. and Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness David S.C. Chu.

“On the contrary,” they wrote, “failure to seek care actually increases the likelihood that psychological stress could escalate to a more serious mental condition, which could preclude an individual from performing sensitive duties.”

The letter urges men and women in uniform who are exhibiting symptoms of PTSD to seek help and makes clear that this is not going to put their security clearances or their careers in jeopardy, he said.

“The most important thing for us now is to get the word out as far as we can to every man and woman in uniform to let them know about the change, to let them know the efforts under way, to remove the stigma and to encourage them to seek help when they are in the theater or when they return from the theater,” Gates said. “So this is a very important issue for us.

“We have no higher priority in the Department of Defense, apart from the war itself, than taking care of our men and women in uniform who have been wounded -- who have both visible and unseen wounds,” he said.

Gates called the new Restoration and Resilience Center an example of new approaches the military is taking to provide that care. “This center here is illustrative of what can be done,” he said.

Thirty-six volunteers participating in the program, all diagnosed with PTSD after serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, receive care that combines group and individual therapy sessions with meditation, yoga, acupuncture, massage therapy, chiropractic and hot-stone therapy treatments.

“They are all volunteers,” Gates said. “They all come here because they want to.”

Biographies:
Robert M.
Let us give you an overview of the current planetary situation as we view it.

The magnetic field of earth is involved in a perturbation or morphing. This is taking place interdimensionally, and the net effect is incremental surges in amplitude or strength of the magnetic field. This morphing of earth’s magnetic field is like a wave that rises and falls very quickly, and the oscillations are minute, but distinct. This is having a very strange effect upon human consciousness, specifically your biological experience. Many people are experiencing an increase of exhaustion and weariness. (As we have mentioned in previous communications, these symptoms are also caused by movements of energies from deep space as they pass through your galaxy and your solar system.)

But this (perturbation) is of a different category. This is caused by the magnetic field itself, which is responding to the deep energies from space. It is a response of the molten core of your earth itself; and the magnetic field is having a conversation with the cosmos, if you wish to think of it in this metaphorical way. Now, your science does not view things in this manner, but from our perspective the magnetic field is having a conversation with these cosmic visitors, the energies from deep space, which are, by nature, catalysts for spiritual evolution.

Another set of symptoms directly related to the perturbations of your magnetic field are distinct changes in how you hold short term memory—because memory is a function of the magnetics of your own nervous system and that of earth. Your brain processes information through the minute gravitational and non-gravitational fields of it’s own structure and it is affected directly by fluctuations in the earth’s magnetic field. And so you can expect an increase in short term memory anomalies. You may find yourself speaking a sentence and suddenly the words do not come to you or you mix up the words from their normal syntax. While in some cases this is the sign of a brain disorder, you will find this happening within the general populace at an increasing rate. Escalations in collective short-term memory glitches will lead humanity to a most novel situation. This situation is an opportunity or a curse, depending on how you work with it.

The opportunity is to see through the mental matrix of your own creation. What we mean by this is when your mind is unable to continue its story line in the ways it is used to, you have an opportunity to glimpse the realities behind the curtain (of perception). You are the ones who have created the curtain, and you have done this to keep yourselves separated from things you do not wish to see or experience directly, or in some cases what others do not wish you to see or experience directly. We refer here to the unseen manipulators of your collective reality—those who hold the economic and political reins of power.

We have said before that there are forces on your planet that actively resist the impulse for spiritual evolution. They are invested in continuing their lies through the misappropriation of information in order to control you. Their job is getting more difficult.

Their job is getting more difficult because the perturbation of the magnetic field creates gaps in the creation of mental realities projected by the human mind. They—meaning those who wish to control and manipulate you—have vast resources at their command, and they are employing every one of them. But they cannot control the magnetic field of the earth! And for this, you should give thanks.

The impulse that is affecting the magnetic field of the earth comes from far beyond their locus of influence. It is our expectation, based upon our understanding of hyper-dimensional physics, that the perturbations of your magnetic field are going to increase over the next several years. Those of you who are sensitive energetically are the ones feeling this most intensely at the present moment, but we suspect that in the next two to three years most people will be affected by this in a way they are consciously aware of, even if they do not know why.

We have a couple of suggestions for dealing with the situation.

Our first suggestion is the easiest. It involves understanding your connection to the core of the earth itself. As an energetic being, in addition to your flesh and blood, you can form a conscious energetic relationship with the core of the earth.

This understanding, or orientation, is that you are immersed in and surrounded by, earth’s magnetic field. By going into mental resonance with the core of the earth (the generator of earth’s magnetic field), you become energetically stabilized. The earth, as a conscious being, can reveal herself to you in ways that are difficult to describe because your culture does not have a language for this. And you have been manipulated and controlled to insure that you do not have an awareness of this, for it could be one of your greatest strengths.

By entering into resonance with the core of the earth you become more conscious of the earth as a living conscious being. Through this link, you receive a type of energetic-solidity—even in the midst of earth’s increasing chaos.

The odd thing about it, however, is that when you bring yourself to your senses, so to speak, you are less controllable, less “manipulatable” by those forces that control the thought stream of humanity through mis-information, manipulation and mind-control.

In other words, forming a direct conscious relationship with the earth’s core bypasses many of the affects of what we call life-negative technologies.

If you wish to do something in addition to entering into mental resonance with the core of the earth, we suggest using your pranic tube, a subtle energetic channel that runs from above your head, through the center of your body, and into the earth. This tube, this channel, can be extended deep into the earth, down into the very core itself, and also above the head deep into space. In this method you are not dealing with extending the channel beyond the top of the head. Instead, you only extend the channel into the core of the earth.

But the essential thing is not so much the sending of this channel into the earth. The essential thing is to understand that you are in resonance with the core of the earth simply by knowing it. This will impart a sense of stability even in the midst of increasing chaos. It will awaken your senses. It will bring you into greater conscious relationship to earth. And, we must caution you that it will also de-hypnotize you—make you less controllable. And you will see through the lies around you more clearly!

The second suggestion involves developing a conscious relationship to the core of the galaxy.

Essentially, understand that you can be in resonance with the core of the Milky Way Galaxy, which is a black hole, and that in similar ways to being in resonance with the core of the earth, you can become stabilized in relationship to the galaxy.

If you are capable of this, simply hearing this described to you will activate the knowingness of how to do it. It is not a complex affair. It is quite simple, but requires the understanding that a part of you is not limited by the time and space coordinates of your physical body.

It requires an understanding that consciousness can extend instantaneously, anywhere in time and space, and by extending your consciousness to the galactic core, you are stabilized in relationship to the galaxy.

The ideal is to be in relationship to earth’s core and the core of the galaxy simultaneously.

Then you will be able to ride the waves of energy from deep space with a greater degree of mastery.

But, again, we caution you that this will make you less controllable, harder to hypnotize, and then you may have the very odd experience of waking up while many around you are still asleep. What you do with this awareness is, of course, your choice and your response-ability.

The Hathors March 24, 2008

Bro. Erle Frayne Argonza

[Writ 28 April 2008, Quezon City, MetroManila]

We’re having a production-related problem with rice today in the Philippines today, which looks more like an echo problem of a larger global phenomenon of food crisis. Riots have already been experienced in at least 33 countries, and we may expect the frequency to rise in the months ahead.

To single out production factors, and especially to pinpoint flawed land-use patterns as the cause of the crisis, tends to blur the real cause behind much of our peace and development problems in the world today. This crisis is one of the anarchic results of orchestrations done by financial speculators over a stretch of three (3) decades, followed through recently by food cartels’ machinations to heighten up their looting of the public’s resources via the food market.

Let us recall that as early as the 1980s, the move towards liberalizing the food markets and integrate this sector into the evolving ‘virtual economy’—by unleashing speculative practices on agricultural products via instrument of ‘commodities markets’—already crept into our national boundaries. Gradually did the pattern get integrated into a global mesh of transactions involving not only food but a long list of articles of trade and services being transacted via the secondary markets or hedge funds.

The objective, as far as this observer now sees it, is to emerge a few gigantic cartels globally that some day dominate a global oligopoly. Probably as little as five (5) such colossal mega-corporations will be well prepositioned to control global food, thus enabling their control not only of the gene stocks (intellectual properties) but of prices most of all.

This scenario is now happening in steel. As soon as we hit the 900+ tones per annum or TPA production of global steel in the 1990s, plans were already afoot to eventually cartelize steel via mergers of giant steel firms, with the participation of fund managers in the process and ownership structures. The merger of Mittal and Alcelor, which resulted to the gigantic firm that now produces over 100 tpa, had now clearly substantiated this long forecast move to cartelize steel. In the near future, just about 3-5 such giants, each one producing 150+ tpa, will be left to control the global market of steel.

Didn’t you notice the sudden fluctuations in the prices of metals globally beginning in the middle of this decade yet? Often than not, based on our experience of the depression-era Weimar Republic, this phenomenon of hyper-inflationary swings in base and precious metal prices are preceding events prior to a global depression. This time around, the panic created by the corresponding process would be the sweetening of the steel merger option (with fund manager participation or rather manipulation) and, voila! Steel cartels are up! Hail the Cartels to the highest heavens!

The pattern is getting to be noxiously obvious that even a mere high school student of economics and history could easily see them. This same pattern is now creeping thru the food sector, even as it has also been taking down aluminum, nickel, copper, gold, banking, retail, realty, and lots of more sectors, with steel being the prototype experiment.

For the sharp observers out there, do make your tallies now as to which of the present food giants would emerge the victors. I will not be surprised if one day, my country’s own biggest F&B group, the San Miguel Corporation, will be gobbled up, via a merger with a larger corporate fish, and melt out into existence except in mere concept and memory of a once mighty firm.

Start making your tallies now. Meantime, let’s also start tallying the riots and casualties due to famine and food-related problems, and see where the casualty level will reach before the 3-5 cartels will become sacrosanct global food market controllers. It surely takes so much blood spillage to advance the interests of the Global Oligarchy, this is what we can get from the picture.

They tell me I was diagnosed with Asthma around the age of three. I say “they tell me” because I don’t remember. In fact, I don’t remember much about any asthmatic symptoms nor any asthma attacks when I was a child. Although there is a very real possibility that I was a victim of Munchausen by Proxy, it’s far more likely that I may have had mild symptoms of asthma that were exaggerated by my mother. In any case, an aura of sickness and death surrounded me at a very young age. Mortality was something that I contemplated early in my life because along with the asthma I was also regularly ill with respiratory infections and once or twice, pneumonia. This air of death and sickness caused me to see everything, i.e. other people, my environment, my body, “myself,” as being very different than from where I was looking. I saw things as if they were a million miles away. I could see “me,” or my personality so to speak, as some cold distant object. It was a unique type of aloofness, not exactly social in nature because I always had close friends, but psychological or spiritual. Although it bears stating that being ill did force me to be absent quite a bit from school and other social activities. I remember many days spent at home, either with her or when she couldn’t get the time off of work, my grandmother. I felt so out-of-the-flow on these days, like I was outside of life.

Not being rooted in my body or in this world to any significant degree, I became rooted in my mother and my relationship with her. It’s clear that this is what she wanted as well, promoting my illness and dependency as she did. She had these wonderful intentions backed by an overwhelming selfishness and a high-degree of stupidity. In other words, she was highly destructive. There is nothing like a sense of righteousness to justify sin.

Although I’m not so sure of how asthmatic I really was, I was with fever quite a bit in my early days. Sometimes, along with the fever, I was visited by delirium. It wasn’t very strong; it wasn’t as if I couldn’t recognize my surroundings or anything. Yet, I can remember playing video games and feeling as if I was “inside” the game. That was quite frightening and confusing. By far the most terrifying and prominent facet of the delirium was the dreams. Most of them were confounding and highly disturbing but there was a certain type of dream, not necessarily recurring because it took different forms, that absolutely put “the fear of God” in me (to use a Midwestern colloquialism).

I would awaken, sweat-drenched and alone, overtaken by abject terror. The impressions of the dreams were so strong that long after I awoke, it would be as if I were still dreaming. The perceptions and sentiments of the dreams would stay with me. At the time, the meaning of the dream seemed utterly enigmatic. I had no idea what it meant and at such an age, I wasn’t even aware that dreams could have messages or meaning. I simply thought they were things that just happened. The terror of these dreams was infinitely compounded by the fact that I had no idea how to communicate about them. Perhaps I didn’t want to talk about them, or perhaps I intuitively knew that no one else would understand them, not the least of which my mother.

The dreams were not concrete; they consisted of colors, vague shapes, and were for the most part, emotional in nature. I remember there were a few different colors, but mostly purple. I remember at one point thinking there was something that appeared to be a purple train, but it was most definitely not the clear-cut image of a train. This may have just been my mind, after the dream and even within it, trying to make sense out of something that was very, very abstract.

The plot of these dreams was that there was two elements that could not be one. It was inside the reality of these dreams that impossibility, a seemingly wholly intellectual notion, became a feeling. It was truly the feeling of impossibility. I was utterly horrified by it. It was a sucking feeling, cold like a rail of steel. Later, I could feel remnants of it when I would contemplate things I thought were impossible. For instance, I remember looking at a riding lawnmower in my garage and thinking how it was impossible to drive it through the window of the backdoor. This wasn’t just a thought; it had a terrifying feeling attached to it. There are still moments when I imagine something impossible and I feel tinges of this feeling.

I’ve contemplated these dreams quite a bit over the years. The only meaning at which I’ve arrived is that the notion of two represented my beingness and the beingness of my mother. They could not be one after the fact, or after manifestation. This would only create a group-mind, which is not true unity, only attachment. Perhaps the dreams represented the impossibility of love arising within the world. It seems likely to me that love can only be arrived at by going up, not down. It can only be achieved by realizing the Individuality of Source.

I would really love to hear anyone’s opinions on these dreams. I believe that they, to a large degree, represent something that is very significant for me in this lifetime. Although I recanted an interpretation above, it does not seem wholly satisfactory to me. Maybe this is because I have yet to experience Absolute Love…I have to say that despite the terror that I still remember, I would still totally love to have just one more of these dreams.

I would get so excited thinking about what I was going to give my mom and therefore spent endless hours making sure that the gift was something perfect and would put a smile on her face.

My favorite memory is the one Mother's Day that I spent all my money buying her what I thought was the most beautiful perfume in the world. It was called "Evening in Paris". It came in this beautiful blue bottle with the name etched across the front of it. I can not tell you how many trips my dad and I took back and forth to the dime store so I could smell it to make sure it was what I wanted to give her.

Once I purchase it-- each night before going to bed I would smell it and think how much my mother was going to love it. Mom always talked about going to Paris and taking all of us girls on a trip there and so this made the perfume even that more special because it was "Evening in Paris".

Each time I took a whiff of it-- I saw us in Paris and mom wearing this perfume. It would be the trip of a life time.

When the day finally arrived and as my Mother opened all of her gifts, I could hardly contain myself. I knew she was going to love it. As she opened the package I heard her gasp and then looked my way and said, "Oh, Joan it's lovely, and the bottle is so beautiful."

She dabbed a bit on her and gave me hug to thank me. It was such a wonderful moment for me. It was a life changing moment as I have reflected so many times-- because from that day forward I became obsessed with perfumes, scent, france, Paris, the whole idea of fragrance.

On one day, much later, when my sisters and my mom were sitting around talking about gifts and what she had gotten from us when we were little my sister Maria started to giggle and said, "Hey mom, do you remember that awful perfume Joan gave you that one year that you had to dump out because you could not stand the smell?"

My mother looked at her and then looked at me and said, "I loved the thought and care Joan; and dad told me how much time you took picking it out and I just could not disappoint you by telling you I did not like the fragrance. So I kept the bottle and put it on my dresser so you could see it. But I did have to empty the bottle."

I was grateful that she had not told me when I was younger. Something may have changed for me and I may not have found my passion for fragrance, scent and the work that I do now. A mother's wisdom. We all had a good laugh and yet because she had shown grace I had a life changing moment - we both did. Because from that moment on-- up until the year she died-- each year on special occasions she would purchase for me my favorite bottle of perfume. No matter the cost she would go purchase one for me or send someone else to do it; but I always got a special fragrance from her.

I still have all of them on my shelf. I don't use them any more, but they were the gate keepers of me finding my passion.

Mom and my sisters never got to travel to Paris and France together but I have-- and take other women there to immerse them in the fragrance of the land and the beauty, art and grace of fragrance.

I walk the streets, her essence is there with me, and every time I see a bottle of "Evening in Paris" I can't help but reverence it a bit.

When we cleared her home out after she passed away - tucked deeply inside one of her drawers wrapped in a beautiful hankie was that old bottle of "Evening in Paris".

So, on Mother's Day-- I celebrate my mother, her wisdom, her grace and the gift she bequeathed me: my journey into the world of fragrance and the beauty of that special bond that is between a mother and her child.

I hope that your Mother's Day is special. That you celebrate and honor the mother presence in your life in a very special way. And if you are looking for a beautiful way to express it with fragrance, I hope you will explore all of the wonderful scents of the Goddess at my website, created with gifts from the womb of nature-- the Goddess herself.

Mother Day Special-- Beautiful new sculptured pendants of (winged heart - Our Lady of Guadalupe - Mary Magdalene, Angel Mermaids) anointed with a Mother's Day ceremonial blend in a pretty pouch filled with lavender. $22.00 (limited supply).

Ici on parle d’analyse DOWN TOP.

This was over 20 years ago at a community college in California called Foothill. Today it is among the most highly credited schools in the country---and though Phil Mattson isn't teaching there anymore, you still can become a Foothill Fanfair. http://www.foothill.edu/index.php In fact the whole Fine Arts & Communication program at Foothill is awesome! http://www.foothill.edu/fa/ The Fanfairs, as with many college groups like this, began to record what they performed, and there must have been 6 volumes or so. Roy said the group of 12 singers became so popular in the area that the number of performances they did interrupted his studies.

Quickly Phil decided to form a professional group of 6 graduates from the program, and this was the PM Singers which recorded initially for Bob Thiele's Doctor Jazz, and almost immediately was nominated for a Grammy. While Fanfairs material is very rare and costly, you still can purchase the 2 PM Singers releases on CD. Oops, I was going to send you to www.a-capella.com, but I see they're out of stock. Well, how about Michele Weir's site then? She's probably still got some---and her schedule shows she might actually be around during May. http://www.micheleweir.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=24&osCsid=6f3acb0a3484501e40f54605586cdac8 The LP I found originally now is called Night In The City.

One of the albums The Fanfairs created was A Tribute To Gene Puerling. Here, on 8 cuts, Phil Mattson took Puerling arrangements for both The Hi-Lo's and Singers Unlimited, and turned them into performance possibilities for 12 college students, each singing incredibly difficult dissonant lines. The result of course are gorgeous, huge "fat chords," as Roy calls them...and some positively heavenly singing. Roy still has all the LPs, and a couple weeks ago got a new turntable and began to transfer them to MP3. He sent me the Puerling album, which of course I've been wanting for a long time, and over the weekend it arrived. Gene Puerling came to Foothill College to be involved in the project, taught some workshops, became friends with Phil, and wrote the liner notes. Here's what he said~~~

"The Fanfairs are responsible for setting quality performance standards which vocal jazz ensembles across America are following today. Each member of The Fanfairs is a full-time music major at Foothill College... All study applied voice as well as an instrument. In addition, all members gain experience performing para-professionally as soloists, arrangers, and teachers...
"My thanks to the talented Fanfairs for their on-going commitment to high quality performances in person and on this record. It goes without saying, that their dedicated conductor, Phil Mattson, is certainly one of the prime reasons for the success of this great group, and indeed, for the whole exciting field of vocal jazz.
Carry on!
Gene Puerling"

“No money? Without money, I can’t buy anything!”

The idea is audacious, laughable, even blasphemous in today’s globalized, branded and capitalized culture; in a strange sense, however, we are in a moneyless society today.

Consider the major world currencies: the Euros, Dollars, Pounds Sterling, Rands and Rubles. Do we mine for these currencies? Do we grow these currencies? Do we harvest them from volcanic eruptions or stardust? Are they receipts for stores of value? Are these currencies backed by anything, just as your pay cheques are backed by the currency in a payroll account? Do they represent ownership of anything, just as a stake in a business backs a share of stock?

Wake up, friends: the precious money in your bank account has as much true substance as your dreams and nightmares. It’s been this way, nearly everywhere, since 2000 at the latest. If it’s a love of money we’ve become accustomed to, it’s a love of empty value we’ve received.

I hope that didn't sound too Big-L Libertarian (I was one for many years). Keep reading, there's a point to this.

At one time, most of these currencies were truly receipts for collectible stores of money. As time has gone on, even the money capitalist societies love so much has turned into nothing but board-game currency. It only retains a value, due to the fact that enough people believe that money still has a value.

Consider the Pound Sterling itself: a note redeemable for one Pound (as a weight of measure) of fine Sterling Silver (itself a store of monetary value, defined as at least 92.5%, or just over 22-carat-1-quart, pure silver). Today (as in, the day of this writing), a pound of sterling silver costs £123.95. If you believe that fiat money (what the Pound represents today) has value, then, the British Pound Sterling has inflated nearly 12,395% since the end of the silver standard on the Pound in 1816. This is a 5.031% yearly devaluation per Pound, from 1816 until today in 2008. If you don’t believe that fiat money is worth anything (and outside of trading, it isn’t), then the Pound has seen an infinite devaluation to zero.

Also consider the United States Dollar. The original 1792 US Mint Dollar was a bimetallic (gold and silver) standard, bearing 371.25 grains (0.7734375 troy ounces) of silver, or 24.75 grains (0.0515625 troy ounces) of gold. 1834 saw the first metallic deflation of the Dollar, when the gold value was reduced to 23.2 grains (0.04833333 troy ounces). The dollar’s gold value was later inflated in 1837 to 23.22 grains (0.048375 troy ounces). In 1900, the silver standard was eliminated, though the gold standard stood until 1933, when the dollar was devalued to 13.71 grains (0.0285625 troy ounces). In 1968, the gold standard was shifted again, repeatedly, until unelected bankers and the Federal Reserve abolished the standard in 1971, and beyond into 1975, when the peg to gold was ended by unelected bankers and the Federal Reserve. So, if you still think fiat money is worth something: One 1792 US Gold Dollar would be worth $44.89 today. A 1792 US Silver Dollar would be worth $12.77 today. Respectively, over 216 years, that’s an increase of 4,489% (gold) and 1,277% (silver). That is a 3.97% yearly inflation on gold dollars, 3.666% yearly inflation on silver dollars.

Of course, all this means naught if you understand that fiat money is worth nothing: again, an infinite devaluation to nothing.

But this is not about a return to a gold standard or a silver standard. This is not about maintaining our present zero-standard. And this is certainly not about instituting a materials standard, food standard, housing standard or fuel standard.

This is about no money at all. It then must be asked: in our present world, what do we use money for?

We use money to buy and sell investments, which may return us more money. In a moneyless society, there is no need for investments, because there is no need for returns, gains, profits or yields. Livelihood is the greatest investment of all, and even in the present world, one can improve it without money, nearly as easily as one can destroy it with money. Ownership becomes far less important when money is not a factor. Excess ownership becomes nearly useless when inconvertible to a liquid asset like money.

We use money to buy and sell food. In a moneyless society, food is grown within households, cooperatives, partnerships and large collectives. In times of need or want, this food can be traded or consumed or stored.

We use money to buy and sell clothes. In a moneyless society, clothing and other textiles are made for personal use, trade and gifts.

We use money to buy and sell toys, tools, vehicles, gadgets and electronics. In a moneyless society, large collectives may still crank these out in exchange for food, textiles, charity or enrichment. This is a tough one. Would we still build CPUs, games, televisions, routers, smoke alarms and cars? Inevitably, yes. It might not be the same large engines driving the market forces past Moore’s law, but then, some say that we move too fast in engineering already. Leveling the playing field for anyone with an idea and a hope may turn out better for us all in the long run.

We use money to buy and sell works of art: music, movies, pictures, paintings, sculptures and more. Ask any true artist worth their salt: you can put a price tag on your art, but the money you make will never truly replace the art you’ve lost.

We use money to buy and sell education. There is an obvious problem with this, as our education dictates largely what we have the capacity to become. Passing tribal knowledge and taking profit out of education – leaving people that only care to teach, rather than scrape by making a living of making humans pass arbitrary, non-real-world testing – might enrich the entire species far more than a for-profit system. This will take time to refine. Time is the one commodity we still have plenty of.

We use money to buy and sell classifications. Rich and poor. Affluent and peasant. Good and evil. Predator and prey. These are largely classifications bought and sold through media, advertising, special interests and people that just do not know better. When none of us has to worry about bank accounts, perhaps classifications are limited, at worst, to tribes and collectives – historically, we see that violent, savage collectives earn those types of classifications. At best, these kinds of classifications will soon cease to exist as civil humanity becomes more important than a balance sheet.

We use money for noble and ignoble purposes. We use money for charitable and greedy purposes.

Too often, we use money in the wrong ways.

Why, then, should we obsess over money any longer?

I don’t have the answer to transitioning to no money. It would take minds far more brilliant than my modest one to come up with the answers. I hope they’re reading, and listening.

Long have I been fascinated with the idea of Star Trek Socialism: that with the right resources and technology, all of us can have clean food, clean water, ample housing, quality education, excellent entertainment, purpose, focus, the end of classification, and unparalleled quality of life.

Think of replicators, star ships, Starfleet, the Federation, alliances and our quadrant of the galaxy as a playground (where we’ve learned to respect as pieces of it, rather than trying to be the masters of it).

This, then, is a type of society where we each have so much we can explore, hear our calling, live it for all it’s worth, passing our discoveries to the next generations, being remembered as pioneers in the fields we’ve chosen to follow. This would be a society where we’re working not because we have to, but merely because we want to explore and give back.

I just hope we’re able to find and build a society like this before we have to go to space, due to ruining our present environment so badly that we have no other choice but to go to the stars.

Even more importantly, I hope we find it before our sun goes red giant in 5 billion years: because we cannot go on the way we have for too much longer.

These are lofty goals, for sure, but at least someone out there is working towards it.

The Free Society Project is our meager attempt to reach this type of society, in a micro fashion. We’re a small collective of peers that seek access to land for farming and housing, possess innovative ideas, received decent education, has a willingness to learn, and intent to apply knowledge for a societal experiment that is sustainable, scalable, and adaptable. We do not seek or expect utopia. We only seek a free society without money, without authoritarian watchdogs, without ownership squabbles, without high politicking, without agenda.

If you don’t wish to join us, feel free to watch us and our progress. We don’t profess to have the Grand Unifying Answer For Society, and we don’t seek control of anything but our own destiny. It’s not perfect, but we believe we’ve worked it out pretty well for ourselves. And if it works for us, it can work for any honest and open collective willing to try it.

- The Lightcrafter

Humans are supposed to be depleting the Ozone layers and we need to do all we can to reverse the effect. Well, recharging those batteries is my way of going Green. I've even recharged the batteries on the television's remote control.

Imagine what the world would be like if everyone stopped buying new batteries and recharged what they already have? Yes, I know there will be massive unemployment for people who work in that industry but at least we'll be saving the planet, right?

As we learn how to tap into this energy, we won't even need to consume the natural resources as this Energy will provide all we need.
